He came on top of a massive wave of hype that was entirely unwarranted, and he proved that to be undeserved. The type of nonsense I saw in this thread about him... my lord. Especially the longer time went on. You'd have thought we had a young Maldini on our bench. I was the #1 villain in this thread merely for suggesting he might be on the bench because he's not as good as the hype suggests. Half of my mentions are from people talking shit to and about me over this player specifically, before we found out how utterly trash he is.
Despite that, maybe if Valverde had used youth players and didn't hide his ignorance of them behind the guise of going unbeaten, I wouldn't have such a problem. Valverde didn't use a single B team player in La Liga that I can recall (Maybe Alena got a few trash minutes once?) and when I complained to say that the unbeaten season was not good enough cause to justify this, many jumped down my throat for even daring to suggest a thing. But when Mina gives three assists in one game to send that all crumbling to the ground it's okay? Yeah, right.
This guy is trash and the day I log on to see he's gone I will stop what I'm doing to cry tears of joy.
