I don't know man. He's doing it because clubs are obsessed trying to shoehorn players into a 4-3-3, while systems with a #10 can still work to the advantage of many players that are being misused. If Real place 2 lazy ass wingers on either side of an advanced mid, it hurts the system anyway so if Odegaard shifts his game deeper, it's only to get himself a guaranteed spot in the lineup over actually playing to his strengths.
