How come?

Has he even played this season? Was class last season should have stayed at Sociedad if he hasn’t..

Who knows. Zidane says nothing about the backroom situation. "Everyone is talented and I have to choose".
Played several times, maybe 1 or 2 starts as is standard for everyone non-established player under ZZ. Made a lovely assist for Nacho penalty at some point but that's all I remember.

But if this does end in a loan it'll highlight the continuing lack of vision for rebuild and that bringing him back was just a panic decision once they realised they'd use an extra midfielder to cover RCM/RAM as they shifted Bale and James.

Respectfully, bollocks did he look unconfident. Not to mention lack of confidence being natural when you played a bit and then for absolutely no reason you're glued to the bench despite relatively easier fixture list and not something you should squarely blame him for. You'd not be making these comments if this was Barca players.
Which games are you referring to and what do you consider a 'chance'? Last time he got more than 5 minutes was almost 2 months ago. Played very well vs Sociedad and Inter, in the latter his entry pass gained us a penalty. Less well vs Betis where he failed to track.

Not gonna comment on the 'Jović vibes', because it's the same criticism poorly made.

I wonder how good XI one can make with Zidane's rejects (including those who are still in the team but don't play)?

Fullbacks Hakimi/Odriozolla-Reguillon/Teo Hernandez
CB Militao
CM Kovasic, Llorente
AM Odegaard/Isco
Wingers Rodrygo-Vinicius
CF Jovic

I don't know, but this sounds like backbone that would thrive under a coach like Poch, Nagelsman, Tuchel, Ten Haag and other coaches with good reputation in building teams.

True. In the end, it's not as much about quality as mentality. Imo, the vast majority of the players elite clubs sign have the quality, but it's harder to see who has the mentality to cope with the pressure and make it.
