I think this was based on folks noting that he is registered in Manu U-21 squad.
Which apparently happens automatically for any player U-21 who has contract (The club can't terminate his contract without paying until he is found guilty)

But it's not a fair world and the bigger crowds you draw in the more you'll be paid. That's why actors and athletes are so overpaid. Football is a team sport though so a lot of these clowns who don't even have the pull get paid bumper salaries because the market has gone batshit crazy. Many are stealing a living.
And yeah Football fans are thick as pigshit no doubt.

Someone is getting the money, football won't all of a sudden become a small business and operate with small figures because we introduced a cap. Either club owners or players. The bourgeoisie or the working class. There's something socialistic about football with workers getting the majority of the cake lol.

Entertainers are paid what they are paid because they are the best in the world at what they do and there aren't other million people who can do what they do like other jobs.
Not to mention the amount of money they generate for the owners, which makes them underpaid. Especially true for American sports.

Argument can be made about making it cheaper for regular Joe, decreasing the income of entertainers
But it is very unrealistic though
Why would they? Stadiums are still packed, shirts and merch are still being sold and people still pay for the TV channels. Really no need to reduce it further because there's no lower class gold mine ready to pounce just because price got a little bit lower. Poor people already watch football.
