He looked great at u-17 euros, huge loss like Garcia. La Masia seems to be crumbling to pieces. Oh well, maybe this will be the final push for reforms and board resignation.

Edit: If Abel Ruiz and Sergio Gomez leave too, they can't just go on like they used to, there must be reforms.

It is ridiculous the disadvantage Spanish teams have when it comes to keeping young players in comparison to the rest of europe.

Teams are willing to take relatively small punts on Barca players at 16/17 that they most likely dont ever see making way through to being first team players but worth the risk.

Spain needs to change their laws to stop this...although to be fair Barca probably benefit from taking players from other clubs in Spain as well.

Or Uefa should change the rules that buy out clauses are only binding between countries that have same rules.

I'm in minority here but I don't blame the board for our talents leaving. We were also robbed during Laporta's presidency. I blame mostly La Liga rules. If they want to protect biggest spanish talents leaving abroad for cheap they should just abandon release clauses. Until those rules changes players will continue to leave as we can't protect all of them. Barça is not the only La Liga team whose talents are robbed year after year so you can blame the board all you want but problems are bigger and deeper.

We shouldn't offer totally unproven 16 years old kids as much money as they want and they could get in EPL clubs (where players can get professional contracts at age 16) and well, if they are naive enough to believe they'll get a first team chance in other (especially clubs like City) before here than they can go for all I care. I prefer to keep players that are maybe a bit less talented but have a willingness to succeed at Barça and are prepared to wait for their chance and then take it whenever they get it.

Good luck with Gumbau and Fali then. Messi should enjoy playing with them.

Players are leaving cause we don't show them the future. The b-team is going to be filled with 22-23 years who are never gonna make it at barca. The first team is more willing to give Paulinho or Mathieu a chance but not Samper or Bartra.

The best B teams in last few years have had a balance of young players and more experienced ones. The last time Barca tried to go young and almost all La Masia was a complete disaster.

Samper and Barta are poor examples. Bartra got more than enough time in first time to prove what he could do and Samper never did nearly enough in B team to get called up , albeit at a tough time to play there.

These players are leaving for money above all else.

And the fact that they see a club that doesn't give them a chance. We would play Andre Gomes at RB without ever inviting Palencia to practice with the first team. Juan Camara started two games at LB without ever calling Grimaldo to practice.
Sure Samper didn't prove him at the B-team, but according to Barca Logic Gumbau did cause he got two or games. What about Nili before Palencia or Martinez over giving Tarin a chance. We don't care enough about our own players. Morey came here during the transfer ban and sat for 6 months he could've gone to Madrid but he chose us this isn't all about money.
Since we know we can match the cash we can atleast sell them a dream, plan of steps to the first team.

Not so much about the club giving the players a chance when they are moving to City and Bayern who have given young players less chances to break through.

There has been as many young players making their way from B team to first team in past 6/7 years as ever before and more than the clubs these players are moving to.

It is all mostly about money unless they are moving somewhere they are more likely to get chances.

There is a plan for every player to make their way to the first team and it has happened more than just about any big club can name. Lucho making some decisions not to call up certain young players doesnt change that much.

Pep did the same when didnt have full trust in B team players he played Busi, Adriano, Toure etc at CB ahead of young players at a higher standard than those in B team just now.

What is the future of Barca after messi? Obviously our signings our not good, we are not able to sell well. So it is not like we are making profit, debt is still there. La Masia will not produce a single first team player the way things are going. Does the board have a plan? Madrid is getting lot of talented players while we are letting every one go. Genuinely asking why is this happening?

Relegation within 5 years tops is a given, so you'd better jump ship while you can!

Stop joking, i am serious.

It is obvious that Barto and the board don't count on La Masia anymore. I will judge them on that, but why don't they sign more young players then to aim for the future. Why are trying to sign old useless players.
