best for all parties if he stays at Ajax for 1 more season imo.. we get another year of Pique, Ajax don't go Monaco 2.0 losing all their players and De Ligt has another season as captain to build on this season, hes so young theres plenty of time for him to move

If it is done like this I would prefer the buy and the loan back agreement--of course this means Ajax gets less in the deal and have to pay some big wages for one year. Like the Keita deal with Liverpool-RBL.

So De Ligt and his agent are suddenly playing hardball ... I’d call his bluff , drop the offer and go for someone else ..

The Ajax captain's agent, Mino Raiola, knows that his client's performances have seen his price tag - and value - rise with it. This means they aren't in a rush to agree terms with Barça and will instead wait to see what other offers come their way.

I would like us to sign him and I'm a big fan but we really don't need Pique replacement until the 2020-21 season.

Saying that, if he is playing hardball to sign with us then he can go to hell.

I have wanted us to sign him a long time ago and I still think we should try our best to sign him, however, if he chooses to sign with another club simply because of higher offer then screw him, we should move on and sign someone else later. If he picks money over sporting reasons then he is not worth it, no matter how talented he is according to some people.

It is quite ridiculous that he lets the Fat Rat and money decide his future.

seems Raiola would rather he joined Juve/United, basically his puppet clubs who allow him to move his clients around for more of that agents fee (see Pogba from Juve to United and this summer to Madrid).. if De Ligt is going to end up with Raiola as his full time agent you can kiss goodbye to 'CB sorted for the next decade'

basically, join greatness or become another one of pimp Raiola's prostitutes

Thought it would be Ajax asking for more money, not him. I'm out of touch.

Ajax could be asking for more money as well but I think it's even more likely they have just put any negotiations with interested clubs on hold until the end of the season. Which is totally understandable.

Exactly. There is a difference between the Fat Rat and Mendes, the Fat Rat only cares about making money for himself whereas Mendes looks out for his players' interest and career options too.
