Can't wait for the new manger to arrive so Puig can be on the bench again. :D

I got some bad news for you .

Xavi about Puig 2 years ago:

I am very happy because when I see him playing, we can see the total Bar?a school, that we like so much. In some way it reminds us of that football that we have lived years ago. That particular DNA of our game and that is so complex to find in specific players. And Riqui has it.

To be fair Xavi praised many flops. He is not a reference point for correctly assessing players. :D

It is one thing to the talk, another to walk the walk.
Easy to take words from Xavi couple of years ago, means nothing in terms of who he is going to play when he sees them in the training.
Never mind Xavi isn't yet announced as our next coach

I know, I was half joking. But, if Puig is part of the team and a Cruyffista is named as manager, I expect he'll play far more than under conservative Koeman.

Some will get offended, but Xavi often talks a total nonsense and lives in a parallel universe where possession is the most important thing in football, the grass is very short and players like Puig dominate the world.

A total delusion.

Here is what Xavi said about another similar player, Lord Jean Michael Seri.
Btw, this amazing player was almost bought by Barca.
He was signed by Champions league winners Fulham. But obviously, he wasn't good enough for them.
Then he was loaned to Galatasaray and currently Bordeaux, who are 14th placed in Ligue 1, two points above relegation zone.

Let's remember what Xavi said about Seri, since he is obviously knowledgable and without a bias towards shitty-soft possession merchant players:
"Having closely followed the progress of the 'African Xavi', the man himself would like to see Jean Michael Seri move to Barcelona from Nice.

Xavi believes Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri has the talent to play for Barcelona after following the career of the 'African Xavi'.

The 26-year-old starred as Nice finished third in Ligue 1 last season, with his form reportedly attracting suitors across Europe, while Xavi's interest was piqued by his nickname.

And Seri could take up Xavi's former role at Camp Nou, according to the Barca great, who has been "entranced" by the midfielder's play.

"When I was told that a player from Nice was called the 'African Xavi', I followed him very closely," Xavi told Le Parisien. "I didn't know [Seri] and I was entranced.

I'm not used to seeing such talent in midfield any more. The short game, long game, tactical intelligence, long-range shooting, personality, organisation of the play... Madre mia!

"He would do so well at Barca. He can play anywhere in the middle. He is fantastic. He has what they call the Barca DNA. No doubt."

Well... Xavi will get a chance to show us what he sees in these players. He probably has the hardest job of any Barca manager in the last 20 years or so. He'll have to rely on cheap buys and homegrown players for the most part. Even possibly without Messi.

But, anyway, even if he is biased for tiki-taka players (obvious), he still is the best man for the job right now.

So, Xavi had faith in Lords Seri and Denis.

Wait, there is more:
"I believe Sergi Samper will succeed at Barca. He is a spectacular talent. Both on and off the ball. [fcb]

"I like Sergi Samper and I like to watch him. The way he sees the game, how he positions his body in the moment he makes a pass"

Samper compared to me? To give him this burden is tricky. I suffer from it too. No need for it. Everyone has their own abilities."

Samper, Riki Puig and Carles Alena are all La Masia gems. They have the level to succeed at Barca under the right circumstances."

Xavi's predictions sound worse than hard core La Masia/Barca DNA purists from our forum.

Didn't Samper suffer from double leg breaks lol....

What about all the players Xavi was right about? You can make anyone seem like a fool if you simply focus on the things he got wrong...
