tbf, some football casuals who watched him under Setien rates him.
Also, tough to know if Xavi and Laporta likes him, they won't go out and say a La Masia graduate ( a popular one) is crap.

You can not say your own product suck or something. Still i think Laporta will make him become Masia poster boy, even if he doesn't play at all.

First thing Puig needs to do, is work on his frame in pre season. Show some professionalism and put on some muscle to at least show the management team that you’re doing what you possibly can to improve.

tbh, watching the video, I realise he is a bit of an upgraded Deco, a bit more intense than he was. That's the one to compare him to if any, but there are obviously similarities to other brilliant players as well.

Yes, I can see a similarity in dribbling style.

For me Puig is a Oliver Torres type/level player at best.

Very good comparison. Immensely hyped players at youth level but failed to impose themselves in senior football. I remember posters thinking Oliver was the second coming of Xavi, posting his match comps and analyzing every move back in 2012-14

Maybe, didn't follow his carreer much in later years (well never tbh). I compared Puig to Canales the other week iirc, another player who was very hyped once and maybe later became a bit underrated...
Torres is still only 25, and was obviously never going to become the next Xavi, but just because he didn't become great I can't judge people for believing in him once.

No matter what his carreer path will be, I think Puig is a wonderful player - just watch that long highlight video I posted twice, from what looks to be mostly Barcelona B!

We have spent more time arguing about Puig than he has spent playing for Barca this season. With so little time, I don't see him progressing to anything better than he is. But for sure, iliax didn't deserve more minutes at this stage also. And pedri was run down to the ground. We could leave it at that.

I think this is a forum and it doesn't cost any cents to post anymore, we can argue!
What's a bit worthless is the many posts without any thought or even new info put in, just a gif, or an irritating "we move"

Hilarious that these posters think no one can agree with me in one case without being the same person as me. Surprised you didn't speculate about me being Xavi or Font...

Laporta obsessed

❗️Laporta believes a lot in Riqui Puig. He considers him a future legend. Puig's objective is to stay at Barcelona and become a regular player, even if that will be a few minutes.
