Memphis Depay

Positives were that he got himself in those positions to score.

Negatives were he was very easy to handle, especially physically but also he's been getting dispossessed way too easily, sometimes in areas quite deep on the pitch too.

Reactionary stuff here again. If anyone wasn’t aware he’d be incredibly inconsistent, capable of a world class performance but also of a stinker then you don’t know enough about Depay.

Free transfer remember.

At least he has the ability to create/score, that's already more than all the other guys there up front right now. The real problem is that we pretty much depend on him delivering like Messi because the other options are so horrible.

Reactionary stuff... well I agree, people should know this was to be expected. "Free transfer" though, I am waiting to see about his contract, I doubt people will have the guts to say he's free when we know about that.

Whenever he gets the ball, there is a thirty percent chance the other team gets it. This makes it harder for other players to perform or for the team to string longer attacks together.

Sport saying he has had "two very poor performances" and needs to step up and lead the team tonight.

Sooner and after less disappointment than I expected did the papers start to turn on him.
I thought the Granada game was one of his better ones in Barcelona so far, but he obviously needs the goals and assists to make up for his big error percentage.

Some success rates so far in Barcelona:
Shots on target: 50% (better than ever, and pretty good)
Pass percentage: 73,8% (better than his last year, but still worst in the Barcelona squad)
Dribble success: 42,9% (worst in his carreer and worst in the Barcelona squad)

Success rates yesterday:
Shots on target: 2/4? 50%?
Pass percentage: 71,2% (worst in the team by a mile, second worst player was Sergi Roberto at 82,4%)
Dribble success: 33%

There would be a lot less shit talk if Memphis scored one of his 3-4 very good chances yesterday. But it's hard to blame him when you look at our other forwards, at least he creates and gets into scoring positions. Ansu needs to come back with a bang. 2nd half yesterday was a decent performance, I have seen worse in 2011 (but we still won back then :p).

Only guys like prime Suarez can carry teams on their own (and heck, Liverpool still "only" finished 2nd).
