Memphis Depay

My thoughts exactly.

Dembele will get injured forever, so that leaves us with only Fati on the left.
Messi will be dead tired in 30 days due to being 33, harder training regimes by Koeman and a crowded schedule since the season started in late September.

So:
Fati
Tired Messi
Hot and cold Cou
Hot and cold Griezz
Kid Trincao

So, we pay 25M for another hot and cold Depay?
While being cheap on other positions like CB & RB?
Because we will have forever injured Umtiti in CB, Old and tired Pique, Lenglet, Kid Araujo and kid garcia, who both are inferior talents to the likes of Trincao and Fati.
Sounds like a solid plan indeed.

Besides that , the issue for me with Depay is that he is almost exactly of the same mold as Griezmann and Messi ie. someone who likes to drop a bit deep and have the ball at his feet.

You guys act as if Messi will still play 90 minutes in 55 matches per season.

No way.
Age, he will be tired soon, add some injuries, bad form.

All players in attack will be rotated.

If Dembele is injured again, we could either play Cou on the left or play Konrad who Koeman really likes.

Plus Depay sucks at the wings. Depay is only going to increase the quantity and not the quality of our forward lines.

Because of our financial situation, I'd rather we save that 25 million and be in a position to be able to buy a true quality 9 like Haaland or use that money to improve our defense.

Griezmann is the natural Messi replacement when he rests, that will be his best position.
To bring someone to take those minutes from Griezmann will be an awful decision, by the same guy who once complained we don't play Griezmann in his natural places.

Pique is a robot in terms of being able to play for 12 Months compared to Messi.

You need CBs for a Cl.
80% of matches in La Liga are again Mickey Mouse clubs.
And your only goal in those matches is=to score 2-3 goals and win.

For example, look at our match against Villareal.
Imagine that Pique was injured and that we played a 3rd choice CB.
Would we lose points?
No.

On the other hand, imagine if Messi or Fati are injured.
Would the score be different?
Yes.

Against Mickey Mouse teams, over 38 rounds, you don't win titles by having 5 defenders but by having 5 attackers who can break the bus.

My estimation, against Mickey Mouse teams:
Home matches:
80% importance of attack
20% importance of defense

Away matches:
60% importance of attack
40% importance of defense

In a league, always the most attacking and the most technical teams win.

In a CL, other factors.

No offense, who the fck is Konrad?

You would rather play that Konrad guy with zero experience or pushing Cou to where he sucks.

Or you could have a guy who played for Man Utd and who was coached by Koeman in the NT and where they had huge success?

El Gato

Villarato!
Messi/Depay/Fati/Dembele/Coutinho/Griezmann/Trincao/Pedri

It is 8 players for 4 positions. With 5 substitutions it gives the depth for the starters to give 100% for 60/70 minutes and then be substituted to keep intensity. Which is good when there are games every 3/4 days.

It's not depth when all could/should be starters. You're just curbing development & growth of players who need game time.
If your default bench options were average 'made' products over 25 who won't get better, you could argue it's depth. Braithwaite for example is a good piece for depth purpose, in a particular setup.

No need to add Depay to this mix. It creates an imbalance on minutes and stops growth of previous investments/cantera.
Unless of course you loan a few.

You know RM won past Liga title while scoring 16 less goals than us? They won it with being best defense in the league.
And yes, if we have no Pique we could have been punished, especially early on which would have changed the game for us.
We have only 2 Liga caliber CBs as it stands now, playing Umtiti actually cost us matches last year.

I think that Messi will miss a lot of this season.

He is 33.
He was never injured.
His body is exhausted.

Imagine Messi out for 2 Months and forever injured Dembele.
Suddenly Trincao is a starter.

And we have only 4 attackers for 4231.
I can't count Puig or Pedri as Cams who will shoot and score for now, sorry.

We lost La liga because EV and Setien played around 10 matches against Mickey Mouse teams with 0:0, 1:1 and 2:2 results.

Real was a champion because we were unable to win against small teams.
Bilbao 0:1
Osasuna 2:2
Granada 0:2
Levante 1:3
Sociedad 2:2
Espanyol 2:2
Valencia 0:2
Celta 2:2
Osasuna 1:2

Did we miss a 50m CB in those matches or a 50m attacker who can score?

Cou was great in the 4231 on the left side with EV in the 17-18. He sucked as an LW on the 433 in 18-19 cuz the role is different.

Judging from your posts, I don't think you never seen Depay play on the LW when he was at Man Utd.

Everybody said that he was not good and he had a decent spell when he played as a CF at Man Utd.

You rather'd we spent that 25 million on Depay when we could be in a better position to buy a better ST like Haaland?

Sorry, but I am not gonna play this stupid games where I follow your imaginary scenarios that you put its rules to defy common sense.

We have 7 player at least in 4 positions, we have only 3 for another.
That is the rality of it, no imaginary scenarios change that.
You don't try to add depth to the deepest lines and ignore others while trying to sabotage young players you have, because some people imagine things.

I seriously doubt we have the money for Haaland in a year - with or without Depay. Maybe Cavani, Suarez or Dzeko are available then ;-)

Well if you want a top natural striker right now, we could sign this bong lovin dude for 50 mil

He can score at will with both feet. He keeps landing on the deep end in quick sand though when it comes to meow chow time time. We'd have to assign him a 24/7 Matrona :umtitol:

50M CB without a shadow of doubt.
Yellow is games we failed to score, bold is games we conceded.
The math is clear.

Edit: Have you even watched Depay? Guy has never been good outside way lower leagues than we face. In both times he had to be arguably the focal points of offense to succeed.
I won't even rate him as 50M striker. He is a guy who has huge chance of flopping here
