The sketch is a bit unfair. But let`s hear your thoughts

FCB - Getafe (1-1) No Messi

Sevilla - FCB (0-3) With Messi (Keep it mind this is an away match against a stronger team)

Ofcourse we are dependant on Messi and its worrying, but we're winning, no complains there, just a dreadful thought of him getting injured is what I'm worried about the most.

No, if we have a good squad out-there including the likes of Eto'o, Iniesta and Xavi fit, then we don't need him. It's just that he soo good when he's playing he does a lot.

We have always depended on one player after Cruyff .
Ronaldo
Rivaldo
Riquelme (it took small time but he was number 10 )
Ronaldinho
Messi

I agree with selo. All the teams are dependent on at least one of their best player. Barca on Messi, Manchester United on Ronaldo, Real Madrid on Ruud, Bayern Munich on Ribery, Manchester City on Robinho, Lyon on Benzema, Valencia on David Villa, Inter on Ibra, etc.

Yea I feel we rely on Messi too much. Take a look on the game against Getafe without Messi playing, the scoreline is 1 - 1. I suggest we develop another Messi-type player so we wouldn't burden Messi much this season. This guy is no Superman, he will get tired over time so while we rest him, there's another player we could depend on.

I agree. Like martinluther said...all teams have one point man. It is practically the philosophy of all big teams..that there is one player who the team is built around. However it is also important to make sure the club can grind out results without that player. But while that star belongs to FCB, there isnt really a "dependence" on a particular player. What i mean is..While messi may be magical, in the history books it will show that the victory was FC Barcelona's, or that FCB won the title etc. It doesnt say messi earnt the victory. All that matters is that our name is written in the history books.

Like others have mentioned, we have also been without Iniesta.

Bit unfair that I'm posting after Iniesta's wonder performance against Sevilla on Wednesday night (without Messi as you all know) but I think it showed that we have more than one truly great player. I've always thought Xavi is our most important player & not Messi but I'd put Iniesta on the same level. Of course, Messi is the man the team looks to in our greatest hours of need but we really do have other brilliant players. I voted no, mostly because I thought the cartoon was unfair more than anything

We're not a one man team but he is in my opinion the best Barca player and the best player in the world and I have heard Alves, Xavi, Iniesta and Henry all say he's the best in the world.

I agree that he's the best player in the world and I'm very glad that he's playing for us.

But other players such as Iniesta, Xavi, Alves, Henry, Puyol, Pique, Toure...etc. deserve credit for their performances this season as well.

I think not.

Messi has overwhelmed our football appetite at Camp Nou, our metabolism shot up to the skies before we could concur words of:
"he is just one of our special players"

Dinho probably left the desease in our playgrounds, but then again, its not a desease, just a habit thats forever un-brakeable I guess.
