Wasn't it involving a fallout with Cruyff though?...Laudrup has only shown respect to the club, this isn't a Figo scenario, IMHO

He left us for Madrid if im not mistaken, why the reverence for his guy?

This.

Also Laudrup had claaaaaaass and unlike Figo, his best time was clearly at Barca where he spend five years opposed to two seasons at Madrid, his last being somewhat frustrating.

To Danish people he is a saint, the epitome of Danish football which has gone downhill since... so old legends are all we have. None of our newer plays can match him. He's like our Maradona.

Many of us Danish cules tend to pretend he never played for Madrid.

It works... most of the time.

I think Laudrup was left out of a game because of rules on the amount of foreign players or something... And that's when it started

Are Danes not big fans of Madrid then?

The majority of those who follow Spanish football are but there are quite a few cules as well. Danish commentators rarely have negative things to say about Barca.

But in terms of overall support for foreign teams, Liverpool leads the way by far.

But Danish football's Greatest Ever, Thomas Gravesen, played for Madrid.
He is nothing compared to the greats of Schmeichel, Laudrup and Elkjær.

Why was this thread moved from the Barca history sub-forum?

I was reading the history section on Totalbarca. And one of the rumours cited for his fall-out with Cruyff being - his alleged involvement with the dutchman's daughter.

Great Hollywood plot. :lol::lol:

Gold...I do love Laudrup, his highlight vids are as current as anything you can find in today's game...He'd still be carving up defenses everywhere

Moved to EPL chat.

Nice results for Laudrup with Swansea so far. Anyone watched them vs. QPR or West Ham?
