Apparently Borussia Dortmund is very close to signing him. I don't know him? Does anyone know more?

Thought he looked good yesterday. Usually solid whenever I watch Sociedad.

An option for our midfield?

This f'n guy. He's ice skating out there I tell ya. He and Alba should form a tandem. Could get gold for Spain at the next Winter O's.

He is solidly press-resistant. Is solid in front of the goal if the opportunity arrives, especially he is a great header. Very good defensively. And is very physical. Recovers the ball very well.
Now I am not sure about his conducting skills, could not find many videos showing this elaboratly, but whatever I saw it was okay nothing to write home about. His passing seems to be okay-ish.
Hence I think he will be ok when we have possession, we will be incredibly press-resistant around him, but I don't think he will be anywhere close to Busi level in terms of vision or conducting the play, he is more of a quick passing to other guy and keeping possession type of player, hence we would require a solid conductor around him for us to move the game forward.
When without the ball, we will be much better than what we are now, and we can recover the ball very quickly.
All in all, I won't mind him coming to us. As we do not have a midfielder with such defensive skill. Having him and Araujo and Cubarsi at the back we should be solid in defence.
Now I don't know what we will do with FDJ and where he fits if we get Merino. Merino is better defensively for sure, offensively I can't say much as FDJ has been quite poor at that. Maybe a pairing of FDJ-Merino might help Frankie to show some creativity but I am not sure about that.

With his contract up in a season, there are rumours we are looking to sign him with a central defender going the other way (Le Normand seems Atleti bound).

Lenglet or Inigo would ease the salary burden more so then Faye or Eric (SPORT mentions all 4). So let's see if something comes to fruition.

Lenglet for Merino would be a fair deal for all parties TBH, but I think RS will try to be dicks about it
