Let see , CM AM who scored 13 goals and have 12 assist , is second in Seria A for creating 80 chances in season , who has average 87 % pass acc. and hes average passing is 17 metars , who is one of the best ead ball specialist in world inconsistent. You see when u say something like that u have to take in account that hes playing in Roma and football is game of 11 players . He can take ball and play by him self and lets be honest , Pjanic, Radja , Manolas is all really above the average in Roma. Cheers!

I take it you are a Roma fan? His talent is undeniable (don't agree with Bojan that Roberto is a better player). But how is his performances on the big stage (CL)/ vs top sides? I always felt he didn't assert himself enough in games of demanding nature. Some bosnian posters who I have known expressed similar concern. A CM @ Barca is a great player, but more importantly a leader, one who rises to the occasion. I haven't followed Pjanić recently, but I hope he's matured and has taken his game to the next level.

My old high-school friend who is a fan of Roma since 90's says the same:
"Pjanic is very good, but not Barca-good.
He would be slightly better than Roberto and Rafinha, but it is questionable whether he would be better than Arda.
And again, he is surely weaker than our starters, ageing Iniesta plus Rakitic."

If we want depth, he is good.
But since we already have Roberto, Rafinha, Arda and we are looking for a starter after Iniesta declines, imo, Pjanic is not an answer.

It makes sense that we get him and I think we will in the end. Everyone knows we need a midfielder and we know our cheap ass board won't sign Pogba for 80 to 100 million, Gündogan went to City, so Pjanic is the logical remaining option.

Barca to activate Pjanic clause?
By Football Italia staff

Barcelona are reportedly set on activating Miralem Pjanic’s €38m release clause this summer as Roma may feel the time is right to sell.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Barca have contacted Pjanic’s agent Michael Becker, with the intention of buying out the midfielder’s contract.

The newspaper adds Pjanic was alluding to La Blaugrana when he told the Spanish Press of his desire to win after La Roja’s 3-1 win against Bosnia-Herzegovia last weekend.

Roma were believed to regarded the former Lyon ace as “unsellable”, but La Gazzetta claims they are considering a sale as his release clause will drop to €28m next summer, while his contract would only have a year left.

Juventus, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the 26-year-old.

Would you say for the bench or to start? I can't help but think we won't sign a midfielder this summer with the board relying on our current midfield, those tough matches where our midfield created nothing and Messi has to drop back really needs to change though.

I'd say as a (rotating) starter... I know we got Arda for that role and Lucho probably still believes he'll get better but at the same time, I don't think he'd take the risk of playing another season with our current midfielders potentially out of form again in half of our games. We have no one on the bench right now who could realistically replace Iniesta or Rakitic on their good days and that hurt us a lot this season. We have much less quality on paper in defense but we can always rely on Piqué or Mathieu to do a somewhat decent job, whereas our midfield is much more important and when one player is out of it our whole game suffers.

I think it all depends on Arda,if we get an offer for him I think we can easily target Pjanic.Roberto seem on his to be permanently moved as a RB so that could leave us with Iniesta/Rakitic/Rafinha/Arda for midfield with D.Suarez rotating between RW/LW and midfield.get Arda out and there is a place for Pjanic.
But if he stays I don't really think we have room for him.You can argue about lack of quality but there is just way too many players in that line

Why didn't we get Gundogan?

Because we have Arda. If he had been brilliant, no-one would ask about Gundogan.
He can still improve, but as it looks right now, it would have been better to wait and buy Gundogan now.

I hope we don't sign Pjanic. We don't need more depth in midfield, that money is better used in like 4 other places..

I'm talking about now. We could have gotten Gundogan instead of Pjanic.

Or because he wanted to join City and get coached by Pep?

Was that really it? Did we actually make and offer and got snubbed?
