But was he a better dribbler than Manu-Ronaldo? 🤔
Yes

Man U Ronaldo was all about pace and large touches. Salah is about close control and ability in smaller spaces. Ronaldo never scores goals with twists and turns like some of Salah's vs Chelsea and Man City, for example.

The fact some would say Ronaldo at Man U was a better dribbler than Salah is yet more evidence of how topsy turvy this world is, and how people claim the opposite of the truth is fact.

No he wasn't. Watched every game of his at LFC. Ronaldo used to beat way more players in his peak.

Most of Salah's dribbling was close to the goal where he wrong footed the defenders with fake shots or extra little touches. Ronaldo used to be a bonafide dribbler everywhere on the pitch throughout the game in his Man Utd days.

This is the typical Salah dribble in his prime. Instead of beating players comprehensively he used to do this around the box. Ronaldo used to actually beat players everywhere on the pitch and carry the ball for a long time and distance.

True, but a lot of Ronaldo's dribbles went nowhere and he didn't always look in control of the ball. Plus, he relied more on pace when dribbling than Salah (Salah had better footwork, better agility and turning being shorter) and his touches were way bigger/looser. More of a large spaces dribbler.

I respect your opinion, though. Fair enough.

That's true. More a positional difference.

Ronaldo used to beat a huge number of defenders on every part of the pitch. He used to make so many defenders fall.

He had extremely quick feet, trickery, flair, pace and acceleration. Acceleration is also a big part of Messi's dribbling ability. It's a great trait to have.

His touches were bigger but unlike pace merchant dribblers like Bale, Ronaldo used to dribble through the central areas too, not just wide open spaces in the wings on counter attacks. You need a lot of control and the weight of your touches need to be accurate when you dribble through the central areas. I think a lot of people underestimate Ronaldo's dribbling because the ball doesn't look glued to his feet like Messi/Hazard/Iniesta but Ronaldo used to beat numerous players in every area of the pitch(not just wide open spaces in flanks and counter attacks). His dribbling wasn't just pace and acceleration. A lot of it is was skill, trickery and flair.

Ronaldo dribbles like a horse. Only run in a straight line.

Btw Salah this season is just Cr in disguise. May play like shit but score either pen or tap in

But if Liverpool win both EPL and UCL then he deserves to win Bdor
