The "Big 6" is the Premier League's biggest hoax, massive cope narrative created to hide the fact that PL clubs were embarrassing in Europe for more than a decade before the late 2010s, half of these "big" English clubs were mid-table at best for most of that period, imagine telling anyone with a straight face that games against post-2015 United, pre-2023 Arsenal or Spurs (with the exception of like 2 seasons) are big games comparable to the actual pinnacle of club football aka UCL KOs :lol:

Pl teams did well, spurs reached final, Chelsea reached final, city reached 2x final, Liverpool 3x

Imo only Arsenal was underwhelming

This season Pl has been crap though

You just proved my point, all those UCL finals were in the late 2010s and early 2020s and even then the common denominator is City-Pool, that Spurs run was a massive fluke.

There is no such thing as a big six because half of those teams were nowhere near close each other, City-Pool were massively above the rest and with a few exceptions like Chelsea (when they werent bussy self sabotaging themselves) the rest have been jokes for years.

Yea top6 is overrated, Pl has normally 3 teams which are strong int. and their peak was with City Liverpool in last years, both did very well

Anyways, Barca/Real will dominate next years and i dont see any other team which will be on their level, maybe Pep if he stays at City and buys few new players but doubt he will find players with the quality of a Kdb/Gundo/Silva, it will take time

Time of EPL at the top is over imo if Arsenal and Villa go out. Not having any semifinalists in the last 2 seasons in CL seals it. They did well between 2019 and 2023. 3 of 5 winners were English teams, 2 all EPL finals.

The reality is without City EPL are not clear top anymore.

The question will be if this is just a blip and they'll return to the top next season.

There is no bid six in the EPL.

Spurs are just a mediums size team, with a very nice stadium.

No, I'd say there is, but not for CL level. I'd usually to take Atletico to take out the 3rd best team in England. From 4th to 6th, I give a clear edge to EPL. La Liga suffers from lacking a 4th top level team. Bilbao are trying to play the part, but not quite for me.

Unfortunately, there are some good candidates in La Liga, like Sevilla, Bilbao, Villareal, but they just aren't consistent enough and have too small of a budget to match EPL teams consistently.

When the budget is not hugely disproportional, I'd take the Spanish sides over EPL counterparts. Barca being back in bussiness changes the entire perspective of La Liga.

This is Simeone's greatest achievement imo. The way he changed the stature of AM is something incredibly rare to see. That club flourished under him to the point of people making fun of them for being narrowly beaten in Europe by the top dog of the competition. 15 years ago it was a dream to even make the groups. I remember in mid to late 00s when they had Forlan and Aguero, they celebrated like crazy just making CL groups.

I would agree with you, if it weren't for the fact that those la liga teams from 4-6.

Bilboa
Sevilla
Villarreal

Don't regularly beat the English teams that would fit into the same 4-6 category.

EPL has the marketing and money, but there is nothing in actually fact that makes lets say spurs a bigger team than sevilla.

Like i was saying in another trend weeks ago if spurs were in the position bilbao are in now, the English media would be telling us all how there is a 4 horse race for the title.

Despite much like Bilboa, Spurs would have zero actual chance of winning it.

There is a big 4 in England and a big 3 in Spain.

But after the big 4 in England, they have no advantage over la liga despite having 5x more money.

If Valencia didn't fall of it would be a big 4 vs 4.

EPL is definitely finished. This season Serie A is better in all aspects. Not to speak of La Liga, levels above. Even Bundesliga is competition wise better and football quality not too far off either lol

It's also about the size of the clubs. United, Arsenal, Spurs, etc are way bigger than La Liga's 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th team. @KingLeo10

I would go as far as to say there is a big 5 in England.

City
Man U.
Liverpool
Chelsea
Arsenal.

Even though arsenal are looking iffy, but there global popularity puts them there.

But this spurs thing has to stop.
