Just lacks the physical tools and defensive attributes or on the ball skills of actual all time greats.



Very good player and one of the few Barca players I respect as a person but an all time great CB? Never.


Wouldn't be against him getting into an all time Barca 11 though if that's what Barca fans claim.

VVD might be overrated if you take his career as a whole(lacks longevity at the very top and a very late bloomer). He's rated that highly due to his peak, which was monstrous and that's agreed upon by non Liverpool folks and legends of the game too.


TAA: The jury is still out. Unbelievably talented and had a great start to his career. But very young. I think he's underrated as of now. Everyone is hating on him these days. Move him to midfield I'd say. He has more assists from Right Back than many of the highly rated young mids from this generation combined. Has nearly 100 assists already. That can't be achieved without immense talent coz no one else in the Footballing World can boast of that. Just facts here. No room for bias.


Gerrard is underrated coz of his trophy haul. Man dragged a shite team week in week out and took the biggest games by the scruff of it's neck. Very few players in history can lead their side to overcome a 3-0 deficit at half time against an all time great side whilst playing in multiple positions and directly impacting the game. Very few players in history have no weaknesses and have all round attributes as a complete player independent of the concept of systems.

Nah you're wrong on this one. You don't start for Barcelona for over a decade or become the captain for a decade because of passion. He had an elite mentality, always switched on and tactically astute. Positioning, bravery and willingness to do anything to stop the ball going in the goal. Can't think of a centre back currently playing who I could say have all of those mentality attributes, if any at all. Knew when to put in a tackle and time things right.

Not terrible on the ball but he started out during a time where being good on the ball wasn't anywhere near as important as it is today. He was actually very good at right back before moving into the centre.

Look at the different Barca teams he played a huge part in. Different styles and yet he remained there. He also has a great legacy in the national team.

Certainly by those outside the club, though i think those who watched him regulary knew he was an average player.

I rate him highly and he was world class but Barca fans give him all time world 11 shouts which is a joke. Can name 10 CBs better.......

Ronaldo can't be overrated. His numbers do the talking. As does his big game performances in differing environments. Unlike certain other France Football darlings......

Beckham is a weird one. He was overrated during his career due to his looks and popularity. But is underrated now because people pretend he's just a celebrity and not much of a baller.


In his pomp he was fantastic for the rags and came 2nd in B d or.


Arguably the best crosser and FK taker of all time(only Juninho is on the same level on set plays).
