From what I saw of last night’s game Samedo looked a real threat .
He’s a great RB in my view

Yeah. I'm really happy with how Semedo has performed in preseason but it's just a reality that our RB has to be able to operate without Messi providing much support on the wing. I have doubts that someone who doesn't naturally push the pace offensively like Semedo can reverse his instincts enough to overcome that. Wague loves attacking the empty space, running the whole wing himself, and looking to play the final ball.

Semedo did look like that back at Benfica but at Barca his first instinct has always been to cut back and pass into the middle rather than push up the wing. This preseason he's shown much more confidence and variety but old habits die hard.

I'd like to see Wague get his fair share of chances. A relentless offensive RB can even work to draw Messi back towards the wing if good service comes from there. We haven't had a formidable left and right flank combination since the 14/15 treble.

What helps him a lot is he also has the pace to run track back quickly if needed. Just needs to really sharpen up his tackles and positioning.

Yea, well, for me it is important to have a quick good defender next to older and slower Pique. Wague is good for a back-up but that's about it.
