How does removing FCB make it more recognizable? It's easier to argue that removing the initials of the club makes it less recognizable.

I was speaking more in Juventus' case, the big letter J stands out more than their previous crest.

We followed the similar line of thinking for marketing purposes. But in our case, yes, I concur that removing FCB does not make it more recognizable, to the average consumers. Which is something that bothers me too.

The yellow of the senyera wasn't the same shade as the yellow of the crest, the red of St. George was of a much different shade than the red in blaugrana. In addition, removing FCB helps market Barca's other sport clubs like basketball, handball, futsal and roller hockey.

I like it.. the current one I love but it has a certain 2000’s look to it. This new one looks even slicker and modern.

The basketball team is actually named FC Barcelona Lassa or FC Barcelona Bàsquet so FCB works for them as well.

If I'm not mistaken all Barcas other sports teams are named 'FC Barcelona', but the point is FC stands for Futbol Club which is weird when you're trying to market your basketball team as 'Futbol Club Barcelona Basquet'. I'm guessing this change in crest will inspire changes in Barca's other sport teams.

imo it would be perfectly fine without the FCB but still keeping some form of outline around the St Georges flag, Catalan flag and Blaugrana colours at the bottom

I LOVE the current one we have, it is one of the most beautiful crests that I have ever seen. The new one bothers me a bit without FCB on it but I understand why they want to do it, the same reason why Juventus did it. Perhaps it will grow on me but I will miss our beautiful crest.

Juve's latest crest is the best crest of all clubs imo.

Looks cool af, especially considering the merch that fans buy, other than jerseys.
