Look at Newcastle, they bought like what 5 players? Somebody can play them in December, and a few weeks later they are a totally different team.

Yes but a club's finances are always a check on their ability to buy new players.

There's no guarantee all these players will do well for them. They also bought just ONE senior player last summer, compared to most other clubs thats poor considering Newcastle needed the extra players, so they were behind from the get-go.

Newcastle are just shrewd in their transfer dealings. For a little more than the price Man. Utd paid for Zaha, they got 5 players.

Also interesting that they signed 4 in 4 days once Mike Ashley got involved. The Geordies will probably be singing his name tomorrow.

So Joe Kinnear situation is their new director of football. This whole situation is priceless!

For those of you don't remember, he had a brief stint at Newcastle as manager before he quit after suffering a heart attack. The most notable thing about his reign was this press conferance where he went mental at the journalists.

He gave a radio interview the other day where he mispronounced a load of their players names and made a fool of himself in general.....

During his conversation with Andy Goldstein and fellow former Wimbledon manager Bobby Gould, the 66-year-old claimed responsibility for signing Tim Krul [a goalkeeper recruited by Graeme Souness] as well as James Perch [bought by Chris Hughton], said "Derek Llambezee [Derek Llambias, Newcastle's managing director] had resigned as director of football [a position he has never held]and talked about Shola Amenobee, Yohan Kebab, and Hatem Ben Afre rather than Shola Ameobi, Yohan Cabaye and Hatem Ben Arfa.

He said Galtierrez instead of Gutierrez as well.
