^ Thanks. Sporting look like the biggest threat to our boys then.

And oh dear @ Manchester City! Especially after all of their talk about how they're investing so much into their youth. Clearly they still have a long way to go.

Yes they have a long way to go. But if they are patient with their academy, who knows. They sure as hell have the cash to make keep it going. What La Masia had produced in mid-80´s? Or even in early 90´s? These kinds of things take easily 15-20 years to really hit big, and 20-25 years to reach their full potential.

You gotta love the Celtic spirit though, they play hard - and never once did I get the impression they had given up

My thoughts on the game:
* Dongou was very impressive. His link up play and high work rate surprised me. The first two goals weren't spectacular by any means, but the third one was fabulous. A danger throughout.
* Apart from Dongou, the player who really stood out for me was Jordi Quintillá. Great passing all day long, and good movement.
* Grimaldo did very well, too. A bit suspect in defense.
* Except for his silly diving antics, Sandro Ramirez impressed me on the wings. He wasn't all that involved, but he created some dangerous scoring opportunities for his team-mates in the second half and his shooting is sublime, even better than Dongou's.
* Samper showed some quality, but he wasn't involved in the game. Possibly because of his position.
* Miguel Angél is a good player, maybe lacking a bit of pace though

We gonna play Ajax in th quarter

Surely we had to draw the most difficult team in FC Barcelona

Will be a duel between the two most renowned academies in Europe.

Typical, they ruled and destroyed teams in the early matches but when they were already qualified they didn't seems to really care anymore and now they have to face FC Barcelona lol.

I still don't understand why the fuck Man Utd didn't enter a team in this. This is the future of youth football. We need to be a part of this.

I think you have to have a credible youth side to be considered for the tourney...Perhaps that's why United did not participate

We have one of the best Academies in world football and one of the best records for producing players. I know you're only trolling though.

All the English teams that entered entered because of connections to Nextgen. Many big clubs decided to wait and see, thus the "weak" line-up.

But compared to La Masia, Manchester United's youth system isn't very impressive.

Compared to the La Masia of the last 7 years or so. No. Barcelona will struggle to produce such players again.

We also produced a great team from our own youth ranks in the late 90's and won a treble with them. Scholes, Butt, Beckham, Giggs, The Neville brothers and Brown. Nearly of them were born and bread in Greater Manchester.

United have indeed produced lots of great players over the years. But it is sacrilegious to compare those 7 players, with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Pique, Cesc, Valdes etc...
