So Paulinho is not being chased as a friend of Neymar and is seen as good enough by Barca? Not the same as signing shit players just to please him then.

Lima was one of the names mentioned as being chased by Barca to keep Neymar happy is why I mentioned him.

We were first linked with Coutinho, who Neymar publicly said he would like to see at Barca, then Lima and then finally Paulinho, who Neymar also publicly said he would like to have at Barca.

Coutinho made sense, but the other two are just such bizarre players for barca to be linked to. For me it's hard to not be convinced that there was some influence from Neymar (or his entourage) to bring more Brazilian presence to Barca.

My guess is that Barca felt that Lima was nowhere near good enough but thought that Paulinho might be able to contribute in a midfield or sub role.

Just conspiracies, but it's very strange that we were linked so closely to both Lima and Paulinho. And it seems to be a continuing news that Neymar wants Brazilians on the teams that he plays for.
