If you guys cant see the rise of Neymar it is because you dont want to accept the fall of Messi. However, this is not to say Messi still isnt world class or incredible. I just feel that Neymar is now on that level.

I agree, alot of people here, in my opinion, consider Messi still better than Ronaldo even when hes not the Messi of old. I feel people here refuse to appreciate Ronaldo's talents no matter what. They block this out of thier mind and so when someone suggest that talentless Ronaldo is in any way on the level of Messi or better than him, they are disgusted by the idea.

I love Messi but I support Barcelona. Those are not the same thing. If Messi hasnt been the best player in the world over the last couple seasons, this doesnt take anything away from him.

When Messi was tearing it up, no one could have argued with this, because he made us the best team in the world. But Messi hasnt been Messi for a couple of seasons. He has still been amazing but this is clouding up people's judgement. Real Madrid have won 3 UCL in the last 4 years. Ronaldo has also won 3 Ballon D Or's in the last 4 years aswell. By this logic how can you not say Ronaldo hasnt been better than Messi the last couple of seasons? And the argument that Ballon D Or doesnt equal that you are the best in the world is right and wrong at the same thing. We used this same argument when Messi won 4 in a row.

However, and this is important and what I feel people are forgetting. Being the best player in the world isnt all up to Messi. For a couple of seasons, Madrid have had a better support system than us. They have better managers, better squad depth , better signings, the list goes on. This has meant Messi hasnt been able to perform well and Ronaldo has been able to perform really well. Fact remains that Messi's career is unmatched throughout history. The things he has done and continues to do is amazing. However I feel Ronaldo has been better the last couple of seasons.

On the topic of Neymar, because this is his thread, I have already stated that I feel that Neymar is improving vastly. But we havent seen the best of him. In the right system, Neymar could flourish beyond our imagination. He has shown glimpses of this time and time again. That is why I think it is paramount to try and keep him. However, I believe the only way we see Neymar really improve is at another club. He simply cannot reach his full potential with Messi here. Messi is the star of the team and will be for a while. The only way I think we keep Neymar here in the long term, is if we get rid of Messi and we all know that is not happening. Even if Neymar stays, I think this is still a huge issue. I think Neymar should be the leader of the team, but I dont know if we are ready to replace Messi right now.

In addition, this is my opinion. I know you also have your opinion. I would like to hear it, I am all for people proving me wrong with thier opinion and justifying this opinion.

There are so many things wrong with your post. I start with Neymar - you say that he can only really improve in another club. Great example from yesterday, did you see how they link up with Messi? You can not get that understanding anywhere else they basically played just the two of them creating huge problems with this link. This is not just Messi this is the duo. If you ve ever played football you understand how damn good this kind of relationship on the field feels. If he decides to leave it s not to get better at football or go for that Ballo n dor, it s to be the only one in a team to play on a highest level which is exactly what he gets in PSG.

So you are talking about Ronaldo being better in the last couple of seasons and Real Madrid winning Champions League 3 times in 4 years. That s whats wrong in the core of your football understanding. Yes, I agree Ronaldo is a great player but not even close to Messi anymore. He s contribution to the game is 0 besides scoring goals for the last 3 years now. We can not say that someone is greater than other when we as barca fans appreciate beautiful football not just by statistics but the core of football - beautiful game played with style , played with technique and high level understanding of the game. Making them 0 : 0 look as pretty as 5 : 0 wins. That s what Messi is more now than ever. An artist on the field creating chances, dribbling and scoring himself which he does equally or more than Cristiano. The difference is that both have aged Ronaldo being statistics player now but Messi a true playmaker beautiful to watch. We are talking the difference of greatest of all time and great on one particular year. This is no competition if you understand the game one Barca fan/supporter should understand.

The problem im seeing with our Barca team and why maybe Neymar is even considering to leave is that we have lost that Cruyff/Guardiola game style due to our mediocre midfield. We are not beautiful to watch anymore besides the three upfront. That is the problem and I have nt seen anything done for the sake of it during this transfer window. Maybe that is one of the reasons Barca is not so appealing anymore to neymar?
