I have a feeling that in a distant future (like 5-10-20 years from now), Neymar will be one of the worst things which ever happened to Barca.

1. we paid 100+ Millions for his transfer
2. we were involved in scandals and lots of frauds regarding his transfer

4. we got so much drama from him and his father
5. we needed to give him a raise each new summer, and yet his displays got worse and worse each new season

7. and now, we'll buy unneeded Brasilians, just to make him happy and to keep him.
As said previsouly, if Neymar will leave in a summer of 2018, or if Coutinho/Paulinho won't work, we will lose years and years because of Neymar and his friends-transfers, we'll lose tons of money because of Neymar/Coutinho/Paulinho, and we'll be stuck for years with Coutinho/Paulinho wages and keeping them in a team.

In a worst case scenario:
= we got very little from Neyclown in his first 4 years here
= and now we have a chance to ruin a team even more (on a field and financially) with buying his Brasilian friends

Real Madrid already won 3 CLs in 4 years since we have wonderboy-Ney.
Now, when we'll buy Coutinho+Paulinho, Real and Florentino can already slowly start to celebrate new 2-3 CL titles in the next 4 years.

if it was earlier in the window i'd feel the same but to find a Neymar replacement AND a world class midfielder with the time left would be awkward especially with how this deal would probably drag on through to August.

I don't think he'll pull this shit again next year, most likely PSG will move on and sign Sanchez. I'm not sure PSG would of been banned from the CL, these dirty clubs always find a way around things.

I think PSG might still be able to afford 250M release in a year. If either Coutinho or Paulinho is signed, then I doubt Neymar will want to leave by then.

It's a shame Barca has to subject itself to this blackmail ransom shit. We are more likely to sign Paulinho than Coutinho. Too bad the Paulinho money could be saved for Dembele.

A couple thoughts:

- People are overestimating how big of a deterrent FFP is in Neymar's purchase. You can spend at a loss for one summer, but by year three your books have to be balanced.

- PSG is looking to purchase through a 3rd party not because they cant afford Neymar without it(they have 220m euro spending limit), but because it will make it easier for them to fill out the rest of the roster.

- Even if Neymar is bought at a loss, PSG has players they can sell to balance the books


Imo it will be established in the next day or two whether Neymar is staying or going.

If he stayed because P$G couldn't pull it off, then I remain very bitter and contradicted over this. On one end I am REALLY happy (I will not hesitate to admit that I want him to stay) that he stays, on the other hand I know his heart is no longer here and this saga bounds to happen again in the future.

Agreed with forumites saying it is not realistic to expect P$G to sell us the players we want, eg Verratti so a player swap plus money deal is out of the question.
