Neymar Jr. - v5

If your current company understands that they cannot afford you and continue to feed you all the promises: they will come up with something better, you should stay here because you are friends with some of your colleges, etc. Instead of them letting you go and find replacement they continue to feed you bullshit stories. Who's fault is that? Nemar loves Barca, he wants to stay and play with his teammates and he in the same time doesn't want to lose potential income. Why Barca management can let him go? Why they are asking Pique, Messi and Suarez to convince him stay? They confused the heck out of him and now they have this circus going on. I don't think Barto is the guy who can close a deal. Laporta and Rossell would have closed this deal in the heartbeat. Barto is corporate plankton that is the reason we have this issue.

What bs stories? The company you are currently staying at clearly told you they could not match the offer you received from the other company, because your current employer does not have the kind of resources that the other company does. What bs stories?? Of course your current employer deems you a big part of their future and their business, but they have flat out told you they can't match the offer. What do you do now? Being wishy washy about your intentions? Why don't you just leave?

Closing a deal? What do you mean? You want Bartomeu to match P$G's offer in terms of salary and stuff? That would be craaaaaazzzzy, even if we had the money. So let's say we matched their offer and got Neymar to stay for now, what is going to happen next year? The year after next year? Do we just keep satisfying their demands like there is no end???

imo he will regret joining PSG. not because they are a bad team and the money isn't great but because his end goal is the PL and like Verratti when he decided playing in Ligue 1 doesn't give enough prestige, he'll want to leave again. yet just like Verratti he will face the same fate. with no buyout clauses in france and Nasser in charge once you join PSG the only way you leave is when they dont want you anymore.

I'm suprised its taken this long for him to leave, i was expecting that to happen when the tax fraud cases came up.

sad to see a great player go but also happy we will be rid of his father and entourage for good.

Neymar will be the most marketable player in football soon. Should he decide to join PSG sponsors, investors, and supporters will follow. Ligue 1 won't challenge La Liga nor the EPL, but it can compete with Serie A and the Bundesliga should the league continue to improve.

Nah, Bundesliga has already left Ligue 1 in the dust in all respect. The French themselves are not even that crazy about football like the English, the Spanish and the Germans are, it simply won't generate enough attention and revenues to sustain a top league because its market is more or less confined to France.

Some P$G fans laughed at us overseas fans for being plastic fans who have only seen Barca playing one or two times in person in our lifetime. But the fact of the matter is, La Liga, EPL, Bundesliga and even the ailing Serie A have tens of millions of overseas fans throughout the world. How many overseas fans does P$G and other Ligue 1 teams have? Do they have 1m combined?

I'm obviously biased, but I don't see the quality in the rest of the league outside PSG and Monaco (who are apparently already selling out again) to match BuLi or even Serie A. Neymar to PSG will affect the league as much as any Bayern transfer does over here. Not at all. It's the teams like Dortmund, Schalke, RB, Hoffenheim, Gladbach who are constantly finding ways to improve the overall standard in order to just survive Bayerns dominance dominance.

In France there's barely a counterpart to that. Yes there's Nice now and yes, Lyon has always been kinda around with the tremendous talent they have, but both are not really CL quality yet. Serie A also has many teams on the rise again, AC Milan is seemingly making the cut, Inter is a sleeper, Roma and Napoli are always around, Sampdoria is on the rise etc, They might even overtake the BuLi again at some point.

Ligue Un is still a long shot away from that, it needs more than Neymar to PSG for that.

You don't understand the meaning of the "closing the deal". Paying whatever the player wants is not that complicated, any moron can do that. If you think that Neymar is sticking around just because he thinks that Barca somehow will offer him same what PSG offering... I don't even know what to say.

What does it mean then? So you are saying we don't need to match whatever P$G offered, but yet we need to pay whatever Neymar wants us to pay him??? ANd that is good???

Jesus Christ.

This is true only if you're looking at what Ligue 1 was rather than what it has the potential to become. When La Liga, Serie A, the EPL, and the Bundesliga were experiencing spikes in popularity from 05-15, Ligue 1 was left behind. France did not benefit from the globalization of football as its neighbors did because it lacked super clubs, galácticos, investors(think Skysports), and the professionalism to compete(pitch quality, modern stadiums, quality broadcasting). But this isn't the case anymore, as the emergence of PSG and Monaco is slowly changing the landscape of French football for the better.

- There's now a dedicated media group in Beinsports, the fastest growing cable network in the world.

- More than half the clubs in the championship have either renovated or built new stadiums.

- New investors for Lille, Marseille, & Nice

Now add Neymar, one of the biggest stars in football, and what happens? Suddenly PSG becomes the most followed European club in Brasil while sponsors, advertisers, and investors pour into Ligue 1 to monetize untapped markets. Take Lyon, for example. Excellent academy, one of the most impressive stadiums in Europe, balanced books, etc. How easy would it be for an investor to step in and turn them into a top club? You could even look at the business Marseille and Lille have done this summer for evidence that the league is trending upwards.

Btw, while the French may not be as passionate about football as their neighbors, Ligue 1's average attendance was only 1000 less than Serie A's.

The problem isn't a lack of quality but an inability to hold onto its best players due to poor finances. Their academies are the best in Europe next to Germany, talent isn't the issue, but even that's beginning to change. Like I told Luft, go take a look at the business Lille and Marseille have done this summer and tell me those aren't clubs looking to start competing domestically as well as in Europe? I would agree that Lyon isn't UCL quality yet, but they're one of the most attractive clubs in Europe for investment.

I agree that Serie A is also on the rise, but I disagree with their growth being beyond what is possible in France. Not only did French clubs earn more UEFA points than Italy last season, but they're in much healthier positions with their finances and stadiums.

Serie A was the best league before 2006. quality and competition wise. now they need many years to reach that levels. it's very early to talk about Milan btw.
EPL is the best now, competition wise though, not quality.
La Liga, Barca-Real competition. A.Madrid did well in the last years. Teams like Sevilla, Villerael are doing good. Yet, there is many weak teams.
Bundesliga, quality and competition wise, one of the best, really balanced league, however title race lacks competition. maybe my team RB Leipzig can give that.

Regarding Ligue 1, l support Jair Ventura's opinion. Neymar move will benefit PSG. After all, PSG wants to win CL so much. When they win it, everything will be easier.

You make some fair points and yes, Serie As current rise might soon reach their limits and France does theoretically have more "potential" given infrastructure, talent pool, economics etc. But the clubs in Italy are still bigger.

Not really sure about Lille and Marseille. Lille is a bag of surprise, they brought in a bunch of unknown young players and the whole thing might or might not work out. Marseille on the other hand have done pretty underwhelming transfers if we are being honest. They both might have a decent financial background, but it's not really proven they are able to work with that as well as Nice did. Lyon is still for me the club with the most potential, yes if they get an owner to match wages, then they might return somewhere to a Tier 2 club.

But I also see another problem in the mentality of the players. I just don't get the feeling players in France really "dream" of Ligue Un. Everyone seems to fancy the first PL offer that comes their way. In Germany, Italy, Spain or England that isn't the case that often, most players prefer a club in the country they are already in to a foreign club of similar tier. I get the impression that french players do not take their own league serious enough to consider being there forever.

I am sad to see what this IDIOT is doing to our club. He has absolutely ZERO respect not to mention his behavior is far from intelligent. He has turned this entire US tour into his own private circus.

I can just imagine what would SAF do if he was in charge of our team, he would throw him out on his head. Players are leaving and coming, they always were and they always will but the way you do it says a lot about you.

I think at this point its if we manage to land Couthinho then the bitch stays.

I can't believe how easily the biggest club in the world can be manipulated by some fuccboi, take the 222m, get rid of immature kids and other dead wood, go all in on Eriksen, Dembele or something like that.

I hope that's true ! !!!
For Verratti + 100Mio, if really hope that the barca management will open bottles of champagne in front of the cameras and celebrate as crazy !

Imagine we land Coutinho and Verratti and next year Dembele. In that case I would't care for Neymar :D
I know it's not realistic but we are allowed to dream. :D

So our club outright refuses increasing neymar's salary, But you believe they'll fork 100m for a player just to please him?, How does that add up in your head?.
Verratti and Coutinho have been on our radar for months, With the first option failing, It only make sense to move to the next.
