There is certainly a level of greed with it which is why people are hating on him. Others (like me) are mad about the situation that he is putting the club in.
If I'm solely looking at this move from a financial POV for Neymar's gain, then sure it's an exceptional situation for him.
But Neymar is moving from the best league in the world, from one of the best teams in the world who compete for the most elite trophies in football club to a league that is outside of the best and to a club that is doped financially with oil-money that doesn't carry the prestige of playing for a club like Barca.
Neymar's financial gain has some pretty big sporting trade-offs that I'm sure quite a few players would not go for.
People would always hate an exceptional one - exceptionally compensated.
If RM fans love CR7 despite his disgustingly selfish mentality, I'd say that Barca fans could be at least a bit more understanding towards Neymar's dilemma.
Frankly speaking I do not like Neymar's mentality outside the pitch, with the birthday parties and buddies everywhere, but he is seemingly an average simple human, who got a bit taken away by money and fame. He is most definitely not the only one...
The club will gain from the saga - one way or the other - so the situation will look different when the emotional waves reach the shore.
