The trigger for this transfer has been Neymar wanting the move. It has fuck all to do with any revenge from PSG for Verratti.

Despite the fact they will feel good to get one over on Barca it makes no difference they would be doing all this regardless.

You're argument basically says PSG are spending 222 million just to get back to us. Come on, you know that sounds ridiculous. How can you believe that under the circumstances, everything remaining the same w.r.t Neymar, his clause, PSG's funds, etc. - they would not have done this deal. What would have stopped them exactly? Their morals? :lol:

I disagree. It has nothing to with Verratti or anything else. Who says that we treat them as second class citizens? Sports or Mundo Deportivo? I don't believe much they say until Barça announces a signing. It has to do with making PSG a top-notch European team and bringing League 1 at par to other top European leagues. PSG almost has the whole Brazilian National Team. Do you think that fans around the world will not watch them, now? Marcelo might be next.

Our release clause was too low! They caught us napping. Incredible!

Neymar's agent/Father gave PSG a HUGE green light to go and trigger the release clause.

I'd easily bet against you that if you consider the top three clubs in Spain and PSG were to trigger release clauses of the top players there: Messi, Busi, Pique, Suarez, Ronaldo, Modric, Marcelo, Kroos, Saul, Koke, Griezmann, Oblak etc. that pretty much all of them would reject the offer.

But every once in awhile you will get a Neymar situation, which is why the buyout clause rules need changing.

They already tried it last year with his 190m clause and they almost got him. Wasnt this the reason why we extended his contract?? And afterall when they almost got him we put in his new contract just 220m!!!:lol: Oh man this is too funny.. What did they thought? that those 30m more will protect them?? Bad business the worst i have seen. WHen i saw that they raised it so low i was 100% sure that they will try it again and here we are. This board is really fucked up...... We are with bayern and real the biggest club in this world and we are behaving like a small cheap club....

No, its not "just to get back at us", but this operation is massive, even for PSG. What would have stopped them? Its a big risky move, financially. You act like they can do whatever they want with no repercussions. Our actions have for sure had a massive effect on the PSG owners and they are now willing to go all in to make this statement to deter other clubs from treating them like Levante.

Nope. They would be doing it anyway and have been trying to for years.

If they are calculating it is possible within FFP that has no relevance whatsoever to Verratti as same calculations would be being made.

Of course its a matter of payback. Its a statement. These people are not stupid, his father of course knows that the PSG owners feel they are treated like small boys, and will be willing to offer big, big money as a statement. You think Griezmann would reject playing in a French team and being offered triple what he earns now? I think you are unrealistic.

Easily proven false by fact PSG have been after Barca players for years and nothing would be different had Barca not moved for Verratti.
