They wouldnt have done it if it were not for our constant efforts trying to sign their starters they dont want to sell. They have an owner with a huge ego. Its insulting to be treated like they are a selling club, some type of Levante. Now we get payback.
This is definitely the golden opportunity for Nasser to show us some payback, absolutely yes. And its not the first time we try to sign their stars they dont want or need to sell. Our relationship with PSG is at rock bottom for a good reason. Just because they have liked Neymar for a long time doesnt mean that it has nothing to do with getting back at us. When we treat rich clubs as if we can demand their starters who they dont want or need to sell, its natural that the owners will be furious.
PSG of course have contacted Neymar Sr well in advance so Ney Sr knows exactly what kind of move PSG is planning and how Ney Sr and Jr can become even richer.
You're argument basically says PSG are spending 222 million just to get back to us. Come on, you know that sounds ridiculous. How can you believe that under the circumstances, everything remaining the same w.r.t Neymar, his clause, PSG's funds, etc. - they would not have done this deal. What would have stopped them exactly? Their morals?
No, its not "just to get back at us", but this operation is massive, even for PSG. What would have stopped them? Its a big risky move, financially. You act like they can do whatever they want with no repercussions. Our actions have for sure had a massive effect on the PSG owners and they are now willing to go all in to make this statement to deter other clubs from treating them like Levante.
PSG offered 222M + Di maria or matudi or Moura and we said no, The board do not even want to speak with Paris because the two clubs are not friendly.

But that's not really a matter of revenge against Barca is it?
Neymar's agent/Father gave PSG a HUGE green light to go and trigger the release clause.
I'd easily bet against you that if you consider the top three clubs in Spain and PSG were to trigger release clauses of the top players there: Messi, Busi, Pique, Suarez, Ronaldo, Modric, Marcelo, Kroos, Saul, Koke, Griezmann, Oblak etc. that pretty much all of them would reject the offer.
Of course its a matter of payback. Its a statement. These people are not stupid, his father of course knows that the PSG owners feel they are treated like small boys, and will be willing to offer big, big money as a statement. You think Griezmann would reject playing in a French team and being offered triple what he earns now? I think you are unrealistic.
We should take 222m + Di Maria even tho he is a snek.
