Neymar Jr. - v5

I consider the reaction "he is shit in terms of winning decisive matches, only good for some trickery and entertainment here and there, he will never reach that 14-15 level again" way to extreme.

Most of his former "fans", bash him after yesterday's match, which admittedly he played mediocre, but so did most of his teammates. Real was lucky to get the 3-1 result, the penalty was 50%-50% at most, i think most refs wouldn't have given that and Penaldo's goal and Marcello's were pretty lucky (penaldo got literally hit by the ball barely managing to control the flick with his knee, while Marcello mishit it a bit). They played bad, again but the result is a bit harsh and i say, that would the game ended 1-1, some voices in here would be less critical

Why all of a sudden is it do or die for him this season in UCL? It's a team sport, especially in UCL where you need more than 1 player to have great consistency and inspiration especially in a 2 leg knock-out phase. Hell, even with a world class team and inspired players in all departments, the UCL can slip, 1-2 mistakes can prove decisive especially against a team that has experience and solid tactics. So, if any other player/team, everyone would say that the 1st season needs some adapting, tweaking of tactics to maximize their potential, but in his case and PSG is do or die and shame on him for leaving.

Also, i don't agree whatsoever with this "he wrecks team" fantasy some sour fans of ours have, he left because he wanted the spotlight, he has that there and overall attitude towards him should be less bitter, he is a former player of ours, that gave us an amazing treble season and the best night of our lives, he didn't leave for real madrid and his relation with our players is still good, not sour like ours towards him.

just my 2 cents

To be the best, you need to behave professionally. Cr150 and Messi have mastered that. Neymar hasn't, and he can't be regearded as the best unless he grows as a person. Players like Salah and De Bruyne have a lot less tallent, but are better than NeyChild, IMHO, simply because they behave professionally.

Neymar joined PSG in a world record deal, but not just a world record deal but it was 211% of former record deal which is unheard in modern football (and paid in full when signed, not installments either) and he was signed to win them CL.
Bein middle east have been licking his ass since he was signed until the 90th minute last night, commentators kept saying stuff in the lines of "he is the only difference maker on the pitch, CR7 is now old" but once the game is over and it was clear he was mediocre they slaughtered him. Why? because he came for games like this, he came to win them CL, there is no excuse for him to play bad, when his team is shit he needs to elevate them not the contrary
And even for him as a player, CL will be the only competition that will make his move to PSG look like success

De bruyne is actually equally talented football wise. Neymar is only better in dribbling. Passing, vision, hard work, team ability all goes to de bruyne.

Actually de bruyne is the only one who is currently capable to break Messi Ronaldo Ballon dor dominance

I don't think Neymar even know the game inside out, doesn't matter how talented you are, If u want to win the game, you have to play smart, be a leader, coordinate with your teammates. However, he seems to care more about drawing fouls, be the centre of attention, of a team, instances when he can simply pass to a player in the open, he chose to dribble past one and risked for another, ended up in the all so familiar foul. Foul after fouls, it just ends up stagnating the transitional teamplay of PSG, which Madrid seemed so proficient in.

He could go to PSG, Madrid, it will always end up as the same tragedy. Unless he plays like how he did in 2014/2015, this adrenaline junkie and primma donna will never lead a team to a major trophy and his constant immaturity will only seem to spiral with age.

No where near Ronaldo, let alone Messi.

Now in everyone eyes he is snake, money hungry whore, if he moves to madrid I doubt that he would be loved even by madrid fans, in our eyes he would second judas. Move to england would be better decision imo.

Some reall bullshit in this thread. PSG played like shit and you can't expect one man to win it by himself. Cavani and mbappe were invisible for huge periods of time.

Also this selfish talk is bullshit too. He did act selfish on some occassions but he also passed the ball a lot. Just a lot of bias if you blame him for last night.

This loss is all on one person and one person only. Unai emery. Refree gets 10% of the blame only. What the fuck was that lineup? Benching thiago silva? Playing la cesso or whatever ahead of di maria and draxler? And who the fuck was that retarded LB? Had they started a better lineup the result would definitely have been different. If I was nasser I would sack emery right now.

Neymar had some amazing dribblings but this is Champions League and not some Joga Bonito contest.

I agree that the loss was not on him but truth is he tried to score a goal 2 times in first half where it would've been better to pass the ball to Mbappé/Cavani? who was all alone. Emery fucking things up too doesn't change the fact that Neymar looks like a try hard BD'or winner wannabe. The end product matters and Neymar definitely lacks intelligence in decision making. It's a pity for him that he hasn't learned that yet since he had 4 years to learn this from the best in the game.

He did okay I thought, but saw traits of the Neymar that frustrated me too. Holding onto the ball for way longer than he should do and ignore passing to teammates in better positions.

See the word specialist?

Yes, you need more than one performance to be called for a 'specialist'.

To be fair, we have done it more than once. We where the first team in Champions League history to lose 2-0 in the first match of a knockout tie, and still manage to get through (when we lost 2-0 against AC Milan at the San Siro, but won 4-0 at the Camp Nou).

We did it against Real Sociedad recently (albeit in a single match) and we have done it on the most spectacular fashion against our upcoming opponents, if you consider 1-1 at the Bridge a 'remuntada'; I do. A remun-fucking-tada and a half.

So that adds up to not one performance, but rather 2 + 2 = 4 - 1 = 3, quickmafs.

Yes, I strongly agree with this post. Neymar is skilled, and talented, but he does seem to lack a football intelligence that other elite players possess. I even think as young as Mbappe is, he has a higher footballing intelligence than Neymar. I was in denial before maybe. It's a team sport, and individual brilliance can elevate a team, never overshadow it. I think he's trying to elevate himself only, sadly. I am a huge fan of his skills, but just not the way he uses these skills.
