Roma made it further than you. Monaco had a good season, let's back to the question: is Monaco as good as PSQ? Is it close?

Roma disappoints so often I had forgot they were still competing. But, that's what happens when you draw Shakhtar Donetsk(whom they limped by) rather than Real Madrid.

Finally, there's no question to get back to. Ligue 1 was won by someone that isn't PSG as recently as last season. Therefore, it is more competitive than Serie A and the Bundesliga.

It's quite clear that it was more competitive last season. Take your point if that's what we are discussing. In order for it to remain competitive, Monaco should be as good as PSG.

But claiming that the French league is as competitive as Bundesliga or Serie A is really not a compliment.

Quality is what should be discussed.

Juventus will win Serie A again this season, for the 8th straight time. That isn't competitive.

As long as we're clear that Ligue 1 is no less competitive that many of it's neighbors, my point has been made.

UEFA seem to disagree..

Champions League qualification places:

Premier League - 4
Bundesliga - 4
La Liga - 4
Serie A - 4 (from next season)
Ligue 1 - 2 (+ 1 qualifying round for 3rd place)

That has nothing to do with a leagues competitiveness.

One of the stupidest replies i've ever read.

Uefa coefficient is worked out by how well your leagues teams have done in Europe over the last 5 years, what other way is there of seeing how competitive your league is than playing against other European leagues :banghead::banghead:

Your PSG, Monaco and Lyon are all out of Europe this season only Marseille remain in the Europa... If they all had still been in the competitions your coefficient score goes up and you possibly get another spot (like Serie A are doing from next season)

Pretty simple really.

Monaco is 16 points behind PSG. You are right, they are no longer competing for anything.

Monaco has won a league title recently. More than any club in Germany or Italy outside of their top clubs can say. Therefore, Ligue 1 is more competitive than those. This is a very simple concept to understand.

It was last season. This season Monaco is nowhere to be seen. What's more relevant for the future? That's how this discussion started.

None of the leagues (French, German or Italian) is competitive one bit.

e: Ligue 1 was the most competitive league last season.
