Mental gymnastics? It's simple logic. You take a look at the best European club competition to see which league is the best. And the order now is Spain, England, Italy, Germany, France.

It’s stupid logic. Neither RB nor Monaco were good enough to advance, so why bring up the point? It’s irrelevant, they weren’t and aren’t a UCL side. They landed where they belonged and were defeated by Marseille. The end.

No goal posts moved. You said PSG whimpered past Real while Bayern played them tough, I countered that PSG defeated Bayern and looked better over two legs. You then brought up Spurs, who weren’t part of the discussion. If anything, it’s you who moved the goal posts.

?

PSG clearly beat Bayern in France, and Bayern (improved after Heynckes) clearly beat then in Germany. Then PSG played Madrid and looked comfortably 2nd best, while Bayern faced Madrid and dominated through and through all 4 halves.

PSG struggle with the same problem Bayern do now.

Talent is there, but domestic competition is so low that they get a shock whenever they face a team like Real Madrid in the CL.

They could play better, but miss all their chances due to the pressure in front of goal that doesn't exist for them in their leagues.

PSG were probably better last season, but collapsed mentally. They had to chase Monaco and played at a higher level in the CL IMO. Might have made it far had we not 6-1'ed them.

Bayern also played their best when BVB were a legitimate threat to them in the Bundesliga.

Bayern in knockouts were far superior vs Real than PSG were.

Unlucky to go out. PSG were beaten at a canter.

No you tried to point to group stages where Bayern also beat PSG 3-1 in Germany.

It proves nothing as Spurs v Real shows. So relevant.

You are struggling more than usual with some of these 'points' you are trying to make.

I don’t think Bayern has a problem. They should have defeated Real. PSG has corrected their problem imo.

Lack of elite domestic competition is clearly a problem because the jump from Ligue 1 to a match with Madrid in CL is enormous. Also having too much competition can cause you to arrive tired and mentally exhausted in CL as it's been the case with both Barca and City who dominated their leagues in outstanding fashion.
