Prospects don't sign for them for trophies, that's clear.

They sign for them to develop and be sold to a stronger club.

We all know why, but Monaco has become a well-run business.

Barca had a golden generation and build a team on them, but such things don't occur too often. Monaco sold most of theirs.

No academy in the world can produce world-class talents season in season out to keep club competitive.

That explains why they are this weaker this season. Prospects were better last year, as simple as that.

Monaco won a domestic trophy a year ago. More than Napoli or Roma can say they’ve won in years.

The same argument you’re making against Monaco now was made the summer they sold Martial and friends. They bounced back, and will again, because they are the best developmental club in Europe.

Still none the wiser what you are on about.

You really need to smarten up.

The point about comparing clubs across a single season as opposed to more is fairly easy for most to get.

I love those quotes. Keep repeating them. Proves that point I made is easy and consistent.

Those quotes reflect you arguing against yourself, as I was never the one grading clubs according to single seasons. You did, and then asked who was.

Terrible point again.

Napoli and Roma in a better league and had a team like Juve to get past.

You said all this about Monaco last summer I am sure. When in reality they got pumped by PSG in league and dicked in the CL.

Tell us how they will do next season...

Nah the quotes prove that what I was saying was correct and consistent.

You tried some weak attempt to make some other points from it about 'one season only an nothing else' determining the strength of a team.

They might bounce back and have another wonder season. That won't make the league competitive longterm.

Monaco has been more successful than Napoli and Roma over the last few seasons. No shame admitting that.
But both Napoli and Roma had a better season than them.

If we look to the future, what's more relevant?

- I don’t believe Serie A is stronger than Ligue 1

- Monaco has to defeat PSG, an obstacle for any club in France that wants a league title, same as Juve is for clubs in Italy.

PSG have not been nearly as strong as Juve last few seasons.

You think they have?

Monaco team last season would not win Italian league.

What’s more relevant? Academies, finances, and market pull. Monaco has the advantage in all three areas, and therefore projects to have a stronger, more sustainable project into the future.

No club in the world can live from academy longterm and be competitive. They'll sell their best players anyway.

If you could actually read, and weren’t just here to troll, you’d know that I argued only a few pages ago that the difference between Serie A and Ligue 1 is Juventus being stronger in Europe than PSG.

So you agree Juve is better side and more difficult to overcome than PSG.

Makes your point about both having to be gotten better of a it redundant as a comparison then eh.

Most clubs in the world have to thrive from their academies. If you’re truly a fan of Spanish football, you should know that as well as anyone. Where did Barca hire Valverde from again?

What a load of shit.

Virtually none of the top clubs consistently base their success on their academies

Again rich coming from a PSG fan who supports them due to the foreigners they sign.
