Alexis is a great player. He left us not because he wasn't good enough despite his many misses, I think, rather he didn't fit the game play. He is one of those players who needs to be the focal point or has the central role, which he wasn't and didn't when he was with us. It would be interesting to see how he fares with Neymar and Cavani etc.

One thing I've been thinking about with all this "Messi's shadow holding him back" thing is that it bodes very well for Leo's production this year. The dude has proven time and again that when you doubt him or openly complain about him, he takes it up a notch.

Actually that is very naive perspective, the board has tried to lure Verratti PSG and now will -if rumors are true- lose Neymar to them. We lose years of marketing of the club,the board is already underfire, RM won 3 in 4 and there is a vote of no confidence coming.
They will have to spend more than 222. You are talking from the logic of how board treat Barca, not how the board protect themselves.
Rosell went for Neymar when we were under crisis after 7-0 humiliation, the board went for Suarez and other big signing after no trophies in 2014 in order to save their asses.
This will be the biggest crisis they ever had, after getting humiliated against Juve, humiliated from PSG, RM winning everything. The board will have to save themselves.
Big spending are coming, probably more than 222

come on , he wasn't good enough at that time when barcelona were at their peak (with xavi and iniesta together !) . Now he would be a starter especially with neymar gone !

This might come as a surprise to you, but he was a starter then.

But hey, signing Barcelona players that couldn't hack it has worked out great for Arsenal, so the future must be bright.
