Really hope Deco and Laporta aren't crazy enough to bring this has been anywhere near Barca. They could be tempted because he would bring a big financial income and after all he's Brazilian, another chance to make some shady deals.

Yes because he's Brazilian. Their view of football is more inclined to art rather than profession, hence their attitude towards it.
He clearly wants to be back though. I would argue the conditions for his recovery might not be the best in Brazil and he needs a team of very serious doctors if he wants to physically recover from constant injuries.
Purely changing your lifestyle, as working out more or erasing the Brazilian nature of yourself, doesn't promise solving these issues at all. So no surprise he hasn't tried it yet.

Being Brazilian doesn't mean you can be unprofessional party boy by default. There are many professional Brazilian football players who give their all on and off the pitch.
