You all realise that the media confused the Spanish e and i with the English, and that we have been trying to sign Neco Williams all this time right.

I really wanted him this summer but every match I watch he seems pretty meh.

Im guessing the ship has sailed and he missed his opportunity

Similar sentiment of late. I still believe it is difficult to fully evaluate him in a Valverde tactical setup but I’m surprised by the number of unforced turnovers he has

Last year he was more dangerous yet this year his brother looks far more influential. However, despite few goals & assists he remains among the top dribblers in Europe (2nd behind Lamine but level with Vini in terms of successful dribbles. Lamine has highest percentage of successful dribbles and overall total

Being overshadowed by his brother is fine at Bilbao but would he defer too much at Barça as well? You have to take your chances and with Nico, he hasn’t quite made that leap as expected in terms of progression of his game

I would understand if Flick, Deco & Laporta want more of a protagonist but I don’t see many LWs I’d easily take over Nico’s potential. Leao is obviously a more finished product but will he integrate into the team dynamic that is demanded?

We’ll see

He is better than his brother who is getting more freedom as teams load up on the left an Nico.

Something they couldnt do if he was at Barca/Spain.

The difference between last season and this in terms of touches in the attacking third / near the penalty area is negligible, pretty much the same. His dribbling numbers are also pretty much the same, but with a lower completion rate.

Do you think Barcelona will try to sign him this summer??
If he is open to coming to Barca this summer, Barca will sign him. The love is still there and dont think the Barca technical directorate do a lot of scouting outside of La liga and Brazil. So they are limited in options + will not take risks on better suited but unknown prospects.

It would be a different answer if you asked whether he is a good fit or what Barca needs now.

Maybe for depth and at a reasonable fee+salary, it would make sense to get Williams. Otherwise, Barca should look elsewhere for a different skillset to what Barca currently have and for a healthy competition in the team

NB: I have been watching him for many years now. He is not having a bad season, that is his current level. The Euro and the CDR runs were fantastic but exceptional. Many players experience such. I called it out in the summer when so many here were stung by the Euro wasp. He is not worth 60m in my view. But hell!! Barca is known for overpaying.....not coming from my pocket.

NO.

37% success rate is very very average.

Lamine: 95 / 192 = 49.5%

Vinni: 60 / 141 = 42.6%

Nico: 52 / 140 = 37.1%

Barcola or Oliseh is the standard we should be aiming for. Nico on the cheap is not bad, but shouldn't start for us.

Oliseh is a right winger. Lamine is already there.

Barcola: 26 / 101 = 25.7

In the previous season: 46 / 94 = 48.9

That’s the only stat matters?

Nico wouldn’t be cheap, far from it. Both in wages and fee.

I’d look elsewhere.

Would still sign Nico..

Yamal is an alien and cant be compared but with Bilbao Nico is absolutely the main attacking threat teams focus on this season and double up on.

With Barca he would be 1v1 a lot more as teams cant focus on him in the same way.
