I think it is pretty obvious all of our resources are going into Haaland/a striker and all of our defensive reinforcements will be free transfers.

Also, I've seen reports we want Tagliafico on loan with a 4m buy option. Would be a good deal.

Probably won't happen as he won't even get much minutes to show what he can do but in ideal world he does well enough, we sign him for cheap on a 2-year contract, send Alba to PSG and bring someone like Wijndal. Sell Balde with a buy-back to a club where he'll play and see how he develops and potentially bring him back to compete with Wijndal or sell one of them.

I'm sorry, your idea has been vetoe'ed by Xavi. Just read this.

Xavi is convinced Sylivnho can still play at the highest level and will spend this summer trying to lure the formal fullback out of retirement [Mas que un Masala]

Why do you think that?

Maybe i haven't seen enough of him but seems like he thrives as wingback and relies on his speed a lot, but otherwise and defensively doesn't look that impressive. Also the question if he will succeed outside of Atalanta at all, i'm always a bit skeptical about players that look good in these teams that work so well as a unit, doesn't always translate well over to other teams/roles. 27 as well already too, maybe just a late bloomer but also possibly just overperforming in that specific setup.

But haven't followed him all that much, mostly just NT and some international cup games. That was just my impression, will be interesting how he'll perform for Inter if the move goes through.

Other than his ability to fit in a back 4, Gosens has been out for four months with a hamstring injury. Hasn't played since late September.

Thank you Laporta for not instilling a proper SD and analytics department, and losing out on the best transfer targets out there..
And buying the garbage Xavi thinks will be good fit..

To be fair unless we play 3-5-2 we would not be utilizing Gosens to his strengths whatsoever. He's much better as a wingback than fullback in a 4-man defense.

Would be another case of Barca buying a very good player but not using him right to get the best out of him.

He is a combination of speed and athleticism, muscle power. He is a good defender as well.
In short, the exact opposite of Jordi Alba in those respects.

Then, he was also good for Germany whenever he played, he can play LWB but also LB
Especially the way Barca utilizes traditionally the full-backs with much attacking responsibility, but also the obligation to cover defensively, he would fit like a glove here.

I will post comparative stats when I find some time.
Drop me the names of other LBs you want me to compare with
