He's definitely getting his Contract extended and deservingly as well.

He's fucking Rambo out there, and sure he might go overboard but damn he was easily stopping and dispossessing Sevilla players like crazy. He's the first La Masia CB I have seen in a long time that is actually a hard man instead of just being the typical elegant ballplaying CB we usually develop.

You're welcome
Been critical of him but hope he gets the extension. His passion gives me confidence he continues to improve.

His best game. IMO he should have been sent off and it was a clumsy tackle, but apart from that flawless with and without the ball.

You can imagine a not overly talented, inexperienced CB being an easy target to press. But he always looked composed when he got the ball from Pique and ter Stegen with Sevilla pressing very high. No fumbles or anything.

Perfect La Masia player. Free, tons of heart, versatile and somewhat reliable. Not the most talented player, but at least you know what you'll get when playing him. Just like Sergi Roberto.

Makes a lot of fouls but he is good.

He will make 9 good tackles and make 1 stupid mistake, but even that is better than what Lenglet and Umtiti are offering.

Pique is old.
Araujo is awesome, but made of glass.
It is hard to rely on him.
So, this guy needs to stay and play, even if it means a few pens here and there.

And he is fast, physical and combative.
Something which we hystorically always lack.

Transfermarkt values him at 5 mil.

He's reckless at times but he's a winner.

His MV was last updated at the start of January. It went from 200k in October (when he was still down in Barca B) to 3m in December up to 5m in January.

When they'll update it next it will probably be between 10-15m and then when he'll renew his contract go further up. Don't forget his contract is officially expiring in June (eventhough Barca has an option to extend it for two years which a new president/SD will surely do) and contract length is one of the factors determining players MV.

What he needs to learn is non-aggressive defensive tactics. How to escort a player in a neutral position without tackling him. Because if you attempt too many decisive interventions, you will inevitably miss the mark a couple of times, no matter how good you are.

Sometimes, it pays off not to lunge in and be more cautious.

Yes. Both the yellow and the penalty (which should've been his second yellow) were really clumsy and just bad defending - something you see when a player plays above his level (and really mostly see at all in lower levels)
I think he needs a Puyol besides him more than he himself looks like "the next Puyol". He needs to be very aware of the basics and be reminded and encouraged a lot, like Pique before.

With the ball, he really shines in that right half space position. So nice seeing him advance, and then choosing the longer option to find Pedri far away with a simple pass after the Sevilla press had been waited out.

What are you on about again? The yellow was a great tactical foul. Sees that Ocampos knocked the ball past him, makes the right foul and takes one for the team instead of conceding a dangerous counter. The penalty foul was clumsy, yes.

Looking at the first yellow, imo he had to make a foul there, and it's ok he did. But rewatching the penalty incident, while he was in a tough spot he had better options there. He was rash with that tackle and the pen was stonewall imo.

He has football IQ but not much natural abilities.. He is the antithesis of players like dembele. In teams like this u have to have both.
