Real targetted him.

He is not good enough to play CB and his positional sense is woeful and gets caught with balls in behind too often at RB as well.

His tackling is all or nothing and gets skinned too many times as has no idea how to do anything but go all in early to win ball.

Is decent enough in possession though but no real threat in final third often enough.

He is pretty fast and physical. Clocked 34 km/hour today. Vinicius is a fair margin faster though. Bad half, couldn't deal with Vinicius at all and lucky not to cause a pen.

Don't think it was a pen as Vinicius is a notorious diver, that incident was another proof that he goes down at the slightest touch, but IMO he was caught often by long diagonal balls in his zone. He's supposed to have the advantage in the air vs someone like Vinicius, so he was positionally bad to be caught off guard by those very long balls.

As a result, he allowed Vinicius the first touch comfortably, and from there, he was always gonna suffer for it as soon as he was accelerating.

The Clasico he played last season was good, but this one was a bad performance.

There are not many defensemen who can handle Vini. He is simply a world-class dribbler. It's like telling you to stop Traore. It simply doesn't happen.

Koeman had the biggest trust for him to handle Vini, but it was always mission impossible. He would lose now and then, that's what happens vs Vini.

He has some blame for the first goal. Needs to make a foul there. Also, vini gave him a tough time.
Still prefer him than Sergi Roberto there, which isn't saying much. We just have bigger problems and he is an ok squad player. Not expecting him to become Puyol or anything but I kind of appreciate his attitude.
