No one is making excuses for him, cause the reality is that he missed an easy clear chance that wouldve further strengthen our lead, and we choked in the second leg by conceding 4 goals without reply.

What we can do now is to move on, but what i consider weird is people trying to mainly blame our failure to advance over the two legs on Dembele who only played about 5 minutes from a game of over 180 minutes

Nah the main blame was Valverde, but those 5 minutes he played was critical to the momentum of the tie considering we scored 3 the season before and it wasn't enough, us missing the 4th was a gut punch, just look at the players reaction, the 4th would have taken away even more of Liverpool's hope.

Crazy ones are the people who say, no matter how much we scored Liverpool would have scored more, total nonsense.

Only once in CL history has a club over turnt a 4-0 deficient.

Lots of blame to go around in that game, Dembele is right up there and of all the players to blame, he's the only one that has done jack shit for the club since being here.

But you have a couple here, telling us how good he is and how those who don't rate him are some kinda fools, what has he done for anyone to rate him highly since being here?. Played well against mid table teams & disappear or fuck up against the very best.

that Liverpool miss is probably is most memorable contribution or lack that's of.

You're taking this outta context, I think the ratings has to do with our present squad cause he's arguably our best winger currently if u look at the squad.

Currently for sure he is, but that's a very low water make.

Think someone even said, not many wingers/wide players better than him now, which is definitely not true.

Crazy thing is I actually kinda like him as a player, but I'm not deluded enough to think he's anything more than solid body for us given our current state of affairs.

Currently our 2nd most important attacking player but again that's not saying much.

I was delighted when we signed him in 2017, the price was crazy but all clubs demanded ridiculous sums knowing we had 222m more in the bank due to Neymar. Same with Coutinho and then Griezmann.

First three years at Barca he was on the injury list. Wonder what it would be for him to play with Messi and Suarez if he was healthy.

Still I like him, he's explosive, but definitely I don't view him now as someone who will make the difference in big games. If he was he would have made it already. Remember Messi scoring his first hattrick against Real Madrid. Those are moments you know someone has arrived on the big scene.

Laporta's words "better than Mbappe" burned to ash. One was subbed in 40th minute, the other went on to score a hattrick in a WC final.

He's easily our best winger, but that sadly doesn't say much.

The only thing Dembele has going for him is his age. He's still young, but it's tough to imagine he'll develop into a World Class/Elite winger all of a sudden. He's a good player and sometimes even very good, but just doesn't do enough vs. good opposition to be classified any higher than that.

One of our biggest priorities need to be signing and attracting some elite level talents at LW and RW regardless of whether he stays or goes.

MAte anyone who watched the ANfield debacle and has a bit of sense in him knows that Liverpool would have scored AS MUCH as they needed to qualify and embarrass us
at 1-0, you thought surely they ain't scoring more? at 2-0? at 3-0?
The chances we creating we were wasting like mental midgets, and whenever they stepped close to our box you feel they could score
Winaldum FFS got in and scored twice in 2 minutes.
The whole Liverpool team and the stadium were swallowing us
Fucking loser and midget Alba was crying at half-time
That's precisely why it was a humiliation

And you are telling me that if Dembele had scored, all this wouldn't have happened?
That was the days and work of the great Don Ernie and the Amigos ruling the team

And since that Dembele miss makes you blood boil, you wanna know what makes my blood boil?
Messi, Suarez, Alba, Busi, Pique who ruined the team by creating this midget mentality, and Don Ernie who fostered it and made it even worse with his cowardish tactics
We lost 4 years of rebuilding because of all them, and were are still struggling to get rid of even the last leech left at the club

Yeah we would have gotten through at 4-0
See Messi's reaction and Suarez shouting at Dembele
