It was good to rip the band-aid off. He was a good useful player for the club in the last year or so, but not reliable enough particularly in bigger games. Had to move on from a player like him eventually if the club wants to return to being the best in the world

Wouldn't it be a joy if PSG crash out of CL? Even their current chances are based on a really shady rwf call.

With Dembele suspended, PSG will be having problems creating.
He is the main man in how Enrique has set his team to attack

Dortmund parks a solid bus, as they have shown against Newcastle and Milan.
Let's see if Kang-inLee can replace his productivity

Yesterday's game showed how vital Dembele is to PSG's attack, though Lucho was right to try other formations since he won't be playing in the Dortmund game.
Even the PSG fans are now talking about how Dembele is indispensable in their team, his introduction yesterday raised their quality by far (He's not a Messi or Neymar, but the closest profile they have to them in terms of creativity)
I think they should be able to manage a draw or win against Dortmund though especially if Mbappe pulls his weight (cause he seems disinterested in games sometimes) and Barcola plays well

Just for fun, a certain user's excuse for Dembele not scoring goals and providing enough assists is because he's a "true winger, whose job is to dribble and create from the touchline." Compare Dembele's heatmap to Salah's and Neymar's

And just look at Neymar's during his highest scoring season at PSG (17/18), what a joke that heatmap is. Shows that you can be all over the pitch, versatile, and still score a shitload of goals if you're good enough. Reinforces my belief that the reason behind Dembele's poor end product isn't because he's a special super type of winger, it's because he's just not good enough (poor movement and finishing). He gets comparable touches in the box and on the touchline to Salah, and has scored 10 less goals in the league. Confirms my eye test that a lot of so called "wide forwards" in top teams spend a lot of time on the touchline like regular wingers, or at the very least not any different to what Dembele does as Birdy would like you to belief.

(You are all welcome to compare Dembele to other high profile, better scoring wingers. You'll get similar results.)

PSG are Qatari idiots. They thought giving Neymar anything he wants in the contract as clauses will return as Captain Tsubasa on the pitch. Neymar is the greatest transfer flop in history.

Kind of reminds me of Pele going to New York Galaxy in the 70's. The man had to swallow his pride, being paid millions to play with amateurs for 4-5 years. "He was promoting football in US!!!!", nah he didn't. Soccer ceased to exist as quick as it emerged.
