He is 23 and he's still underdeveloped in many facets of the game.He will never get better than how he is now.

True but we have to remember he's been mostly injured with Barca. He didn't have time to improve either. We just have to pray he stays healthy and finds his mojo.

I have more chance to win the lottery than Dembele staying healthy for an entire season!I guess that s what Bartomeu squad "planning" has done to us...to resort to praying.

Probably right. I wouldn't bet on it that's for sure. I was certain he was injured in today's match.

One subpar game and the haters are out of there shells. Dembele played 120 minutes, which is incredible considering his luck the last couple of years
. His body is responding well and he need to keep pushing. I am not worried about his game, his world class especially in the CL and we need that.

You're welcome
Watched the summary of the game a few times and have to say.....even for his poor game still the player causing the most danger. Forgot how many times he created something. Had a few great dribbles, should just release the ball more quickly or shoot sooner instead of making the extra step. But again, I think fatigue is effecting him.

3 1/2 seasons later, we're finally getting some consistency from him - I thought he played well considering the circumstances and is improving

Never thought I'd see Dembele play 120 min for Barca and have energy left to score his penalty.

This period after the break has been exhausting for many of our players after having to go all in every single game, including Dembele.

Probably was told that Monreal took his PS5. Was mad last night, loved it. Although he rushed many plays, he really wanted to make a difference.

True. Many of our starters need a break. At least Messi got a break. Dembele looked much better in the first three games(fresh).

You're getting dangerously close to the "in defense of Vinicius Jr" type takes from Madrid fans. Incredible acceleration and dribbling is fun to watch, but what's the point of it if you can't convert said danger into genuine chances due to poor decision making skills, composure, and lack of awareness? Maybe a good game for a Newcastle United tier team, but certainly not for Barcelona; last night he was poor.

Poor according to who? On whoscored he is 3rd in rating after MATS and Griezman.

In general, Dembele critics recently tend to just drop a 'he was poor' comment without any elaboration or any proper evaluation of what he did in each game.

All of what you say are criticism mounted against him in the past, some of them were valid, but we are seeing less and less of it with every passing year.
Yesterday in particular I did not see any poor decision making or lack of composure.
He failed to convert a couple of chances (which again he himself created with his moves), which on other games he had converted (or he had converted more difficult ones).
[I posted that again recently. In all comp so far he has expected (non-penalty) goals 2.8 and 4 (non-penalty) goals. This is a converstion ration of 1.43, which is second higher in the team (behind Fati's) compared to all other forward players. Messi has 0.83 currently, and until recently had 0.5]

And if you weigh that against what he provides, there is no discussion really...
The way he generates chance after chance out of nothing is remarkable.

PS: I don't know what exactly the 'defense of Vini' in RM forums is, but I find also the criticism against him unfair. He is very young and has tremendous quality, he can learn how to finish better and explode as a player.

This is how much the standards have fallen at this once mighty club...to say that Dembele had even an ''okay'' game yesterday it's laughable.Going blindly in dead alleys with his supposed ''dribbling'', messing 99% of even simple passes...and for the record,i don't hate him.The only player that i can say that i ';'hate'',although that is a strong word even in his case,it's the biggest waste of space i ever seen playing for Barca-Griezzyboy.Dembele it's just a low iq footballer and dare i say, human being, with two great qualities: speed and accelaration. That is not enough for playing at Barcelona.Once this club was known for it's intelligent players,on and off the field, and now we have Dembouz playing for us.Cringe.
