Only got intercepted once and thats when he took on 2 Napoli players. It will happen more times.

If you mean that sometimes he seems to be a special player, I agree. Some of his highlights are brilliant. He can also be unpredictable, which is something we desperately need.

Did you guys watch the world cup at all? He was the most unpredictable player in the squad, he created several goals out of nothing with his own pace and brilliance. He did it in Monaco during the CL and he does it for PSG as well. I mean I agree, people overrate Mbappe but you guys are underselling his talents way too fucking much. Mbappe is more unpredictable as he actually knows how to utilise the tools he has. Sure Dembele can dribble past 10 players in a single match, but that only happens like 3 times a season. Like we don't have to guess how Dembele would be in Mbappe's teams, they already play in the same team. Just compare their NT performances side by side, it's Dembele not Mbappe, that plays utterly predictable and static on the right flank.

From what I did watch of france and Mbappbe I haven't really seen this xfactor you claim he has, I've seen him be extremely efficient on the counters and utilising his physical attributes well, but unpredictability i have not seen. IF you could point me to those instances/games, id love to take a look.

More of this kind of performances is what he needs. Very threatening whenever he got the ball, good combinations, good overall.
His composure is not so good in front of goal yet, he seems to shoot better from further away, which is weird.

People don't expect you score from there so there's less pressure on the player, and less composure and mental fortitude is required to take shots from there. If you think some of his problems involve composure (he panics way too much) then it makes sense that he's more reliable outside the box than inside it.

By the way, a good cameo. If he plays more like that then it's really to forgive the faults he has.

France is relying on his pace a lot, because Deschamps basically built his team around a strong defense, amazing passing players (Pogba and Griezmann), and Mbappe's lightning speed. He was dribbling more when he was playing for Monaco and he was doing it superbly. If you want some x factor with his blue shirt on though, go check again his back heel pass to Giroud against Belgium. Probably one of the most incredible pass in the history of WC. Should have been an assist but Giroud didn't score. It was perfect on a technical level, and insanely clever.

I do agree that Dembele is very gifted, but people seem to paint Mbappe as just a great sprinter in comparison, when he's much more than that.

True. What is baffling is that his composure is really good when he dribbles. He seems to be relaxed and sure of himself.

The reality is that Griezmann is not a Winger and seems out of place, as coutinho did . Dembele is a winger though and seems comfortable there.
But if he started, then Griessman would have to share a spot with Suarez, which let's be realistic, will not happen.

So, Dembele this year will be a substitute for most games. And even if the team is better with him, griezmann/suarez and messi, he will not ever make the starting eleven.
Mind you, this is the best case scenario. The worst case would be that he will play as a substitute and never impress, or get injured.

Don't know what to expect of him at this point.
