Plus I am not even sure if getting a little bit more money from some team in England is the best deal for him.

A little bit? He can easily get the rumored 15M signing on fee + 10-15M a season from Newcastle. That's him settled for 5 years, which is basically his whole career. At 29 he'll probably be done with football considering his injury record.

I doubt he?s going to Newcastle as they probably won?t be playing Premier League football next season. All the excitement around them and yet they only managed to appoint Eddie Howe and are going into December with a single premier league win.

Can see him going to a United or Bayern maybe

I don't get the hate. Only an idiot makes a business decision based on sentiment. I respect Dembele for following the money and not taking the rumored pay cuts to "pay back" Barcelona.

Maybe Barcelona can a learn a thing or two in regards to following sentiment to their detriment.

Well, this forum of FC Barcelona fans, not good business decision fans.
If he can get more money, fair play to him. Doesn't mean Barca fans should hate him less

L for Laporta ngl

Losing a player signed for 125m for fkn free

Nah, Laporta will be praised in here just like he was for not re-signing Messi. It will be made out as if he did another great move, that no other president would have been able to pull off

How is that a L for Laporta. What should he do, give him a raise with money the club doesn't have, like Barto was doing.

Lol at bringing Dembele price to the discussion, he was bought by 3 times his worth because Robert Fernandez had obsession with him since his Rennes days.
1 year later Fernandez was fired because the board knew he was a clueless sporting director.

Laporta should not be condemned or praised if Dembele doesn't renew, he was never going to be sold when he was injured and having 1 year in his contract.

And we can't give players what they want, it is a recipe for disaster.
I genuinely hope he leaves, an overrated talent who lacks the most basic skill for athletes and that is availability.
He is 25 at the end of the season and this is his 7th season as a pro, there is no more "potential" in a guy like him. Let him be someone else problem.

I could hate him for football reasons, but I'm indifferent to his contract demands. 95% of modern players are like that, few are the loyal ones, for example Del Piero and Buffon who refused to move away from Juventus after the Calciopoli. Dembouz with this saga proved he is just another mercenary for the club.

Except some like Dembele are clueless. He's an inconsistent dribbler, with poor tactical discipline, immature, and who is injured over 50% of the time. How the hell does he think he can command top money? Just because he's fast?

Fuck no, let him go in the summer and play him until then to save our season and get top 4. If he gets injured, even more hilarious, it means we won't be missing much but a patient.

Barca should follow Bayern's approach to football finances. They have a limit to what they are willing to pay to a player. Barto's reign was horrible in regards to that.
Dembele has all the physical and technical talent in the world, but he obviously lacks mental aspect which is the real difference maker. If he wants bigger salary, he should go.

Bar?a should move to a shit league then so they can hoover up all the talent. Bayern is no example, it's just a state run club as this point.

Hehehe, I agree. Whoever signs him in January will realize by mid-April what a fucked player they got. Dembele should consider the fact that Barca were extremely patient with him throughout the years of injuries, he won't find that elsewhere. Not even when he finishes his career somewhere in Thailand.

These are normal things in football. Some of the reactions here are hilarious especially bbz still trying to push coutinho as being better. Accept he's (coutinho) a fucking shit cunt that's worse than your most hated player (Dembele) currently in fc barca.

We offered him a lower contract with performance based bonuses as was logical from our pov. His form and injury record means that if he doesn't agree to those terms he can leave.

I'd really like to know what we've offered and what he is expecting.

Agreed. He's not a player that we should be looking to get rid of since he's our only fast attacker, but he is also definetly not a player you go desperate to keep if he asks for too much. Comes with a lot of baggage.
