Ousmane Dembélé

Who would've thought a year ago fucking Dembele and Raphinha would be fighting for Ballon d'Or

Tbh it's not that crazy. Dembele had spells of top football under Xavi until he got injured in the 2nd part of 2022-23. He seems that his body has matured as he is not that young anymore, stays fit now, and he got smarter as he aged also.

Raphinha always had the most elite mentality possible. He's not a surprise at all for me. Also got a manager that is right down on his alley. Better for him than Xavi's more static positional possession football.

The shite part for Barcelona is we basically spent 150m on Dembele's education.

To me, the PSG squad now seems stronger or more compact than the PSG of then (even with Messi, Neymar and Mbappe). it's not just about the names, the togetherness also matters to a large extent (cause the talent of Messi and Neymar is levels above the squad, but the squad is more dangerous as a collective).

I imagine it would've been easier for Liverpool to break them down with the waves of attack they pushed at Anfield if they had Messi, Neymar and Mbappe upfront, as they press less.
