Paulo Dybala

Wasn't Dybala Man of the Match in Juventus Barcelona 3-0? He didn't play in the position of Higuain, did he? He played out wide. His first goal is characteristical of wide forward-midfielder imo. He is a left foot player, with great abilities not only in the box, but also in more retreat positions. To me, he is never a no9, but more of a wide froward or a 2nd forward in a clasic 4-4-2, or diamond 4-4-2. A big part of Suarez's work at no9 is being a pitbull like player, wrestling with opponents, sometime two defenders at time. Dybala doesn't have that in his game, which is why I don't see him in such a crowded position as the no9 position is.

If we can have him, it would be great for me. Then we can move Messi behind Surez, and we can force one of Cotinho or Hazard on the left. I would have Dembele or Dybala on the right wing, and Coutinho or Hazard on the left wing.

Something like this would be ideal imo:

If Dybala played wide where was Cuadrado playing.
Are you suggesting that Juventus played three players on the right side?
Cuadrado, Dybala and Alves?

Cuadrado played right next to the line, Dybala played more inside but still a bit wide.

He also starts his movement from a wide right position. At Juventus he is allowed more freedom, being their best player.
he is left footed, that is to be expected. Just like Messi as False 9,he usually started on the right where he combined with Dani Alves
Do you reckon he can replicate the level of performance he showed in Juventus by now playing a restricted role?

I expect him to do great at Barca. He is good in combination, he is quick, has a pretty high football IQ, is very young, is known to score golazos out of the blue. He'd be a great signing. We can make it work for sure. He can play on the right without problems imo, just play him closer to the box, not hugging the line all the time.

La Joya renewed with Juve earlier this year, and there is no release clause in the contract which runs until 2022.

However, the Argentine has made no secret of the fact that Lionel Messi is his idol, and Mundo Deportivo claims there’s a verbal agreement concerning the Blaugrana.

The Spanish outlet claims the Bianconeri told Dybala he can leave if the Catalans meet a certain price, thought to be between €110m and €120m.

That's not the point.
The point is where can we utilize his abilities the best and it is as a Second striker with a free role which we don't have
I don't care what positions he can play, i care for the best position for him, we don't have a need for that position, we move on to another target :D

BTW RIP width

There's no way to know if we can utilize his abilities the best or not, that's down to the manager only. The roles are also down to the manager and the system in play. Width is, in many tactical systems, ensured by fullbacks who push up in the possession phase. That's not to say that Dybala can't stay wider as well, he made a lot of great actions last season on the right for Juventus.

But then you expect him to do great here at the same time. Contradiction?

Players can have great actions at any part of the pitch.
Suarez for instance has quite a number of great actions on the right side e.g his goal vs psg, Madrid, Atletico, Valencia, Almeria and many others. Doesn't mean it's a wise idea playing him there

Not a contradiction at all. I believe he'll do fine, I don't actually know that. Nobody knows how he will do at Barca. All we know is that he is a great talent and potentially a world class player, with great skills. The rest is speculation.
