a big thing Pep has always tried to introduce is tactical flexibility. the idea of introducing the 3142 (and to a lesser extent, the 3133) was to give us versatility and the ability to shift systems and emphasis at a moments notice.
this was all valid and good, and like Pep said, this season we have introduced and become familiar with new concepts (tactics) and this will serve us very well next season. but we always needed to have our Plan A (the 433) available for use. but because of Pedro & Villa's woes, we rarely did and so were often forced to play the 3142 (or a skewed 433 with Cesc or Iniesta advanced) for periods of games (and games as a whole) where we would have been better suited shifting to a proper 433.
cannot wait for a fit Villa & Pedro next season. with a more settled Cesc we will have so much flexibility.

^^^exactly I think doing these things for the first time this season isn't that bad, we are all going to be settled next season and hopefully increase a little on finishing and stop relying on Messi a lot. Though wonder how settled Cesc will be and the improvement he will get.....or just flop
