In short. Frank stood on Van Gaal shoulders as did pep on Franks.

But yes, he took that system to extreme and won. An absolute legend.

In a decade noone will talk about Bayern or City under pep. But they will about Barca

In a sense it's pep's loss too

I think his Bayern days are somewhat underrated. Yes, he didn't win UCL with them but the way they played, Pep's endless formation/tactic... were truly memorable.

Imo his Bayern team probably played the best football in its history despite not winning UCL, play better football than his City treble team too.

Whose history? If Bayern’s, they were much better during Heynckes’ years. One of the best and most effective teams. Wonderful football.

Sad thing about the game is nobody remembers you unless you win the big trophy.


Pep's Bayern were stronger and played better football than most CL winning sides but no one will remember them.
