I'm confused. Did Mancini and Pellegrini set a new points record in the history of the Premier League? How you win matters as much as what you win. I expect Barca fans to know this by now.

It doesn't matter how much you spend. You can't buy a Xavi, a Dani Alves, or a Iniesta. These are once every 20-30 years type of players.

No but they had a much worse squad and the prem was much more competitive back then...

His opinion, of course, but frankly, Serie A and Bundesliga are not as competitive as la liga, also, Juventus havent even won a CL during this time.
I'd say we would make the top 3 ahead of Juventus, but thats just my opinion as well.

Pep has said before that he prefers winning league over CL, he said that during his Barca days IIRC
He has his opinion and he is consistent with it, this has nothing to do with RM IMHO. Not a politically correct answer but an honest one

Considering the terrible results in the league, you could call Madrid a CL specialist team. They are great in this specific competition, but taking the whole season in consideration they don't have the consistency of Bayern, Juventus or Barca.

Pretty sure that's what Pep meant and you can't fault him, it's in line with his previous statements.

Barca - 2 CL (highest peak performances of the decade in 2011 and latter half of 2015)
5 La Ligas, most likely 6.

Real - 4 CL (really dominant performances in 2014 and 2017 CL)
2 La Ligas (Really dominant 2012)

Bayern and Juventus don't even come close, given that their respective leagues are so much weaker than La Liga. And they won a grand total of 1 CL between them.

There is also how you lose it, Pep has been awful in his 1st year and so far this year too.
He set record for sure, but those records aren't much of a thing tbh, Tito & Mourinho won the league with more points than Pep.
Pep is their to build a dynasty and to expand their brand, I'd argue he didn't improve their brand more than the previous 2 coach did. If he wins the league again on style you might be onto something but not now tbh.

He should be held accountable to stagnancy. Grandstanding and pointing to style as if it's something you remember decades after doesn't do his defenders any favours.

People want to see him and his teams change and evolve as much as they do anywhere else. It doesn't surprise anybody that he contends for domestic titles, but he doesn't seem keen to prioritise competitions he hasn't produced comparable repetitive results in. Getting too stuck to your managerial comfort zone is dangerous. Look no further than the coaches of the noughties that are still around.

Have to disagree than Pep didn't improve their brand. Brought fresh style to the league, attracted lots of attention, played entertaining football. But result wise, should do better spendings considered.
