I'd be amazed if Pep wanted Araujo (whom i'm a massive fan of btw so not slandering him) because he lacks the technical ability that Pep finds absolutely necessary in a defender.

For the money that Barca would want, he'd have too much work to do with him to get him playing out from the back.

With the riches City possess, they could easily afford a CB who already has the characteristics he wants.

Have to disagree here. Pep will forever be related to Barca and Catalonia, so he does give a lot of flying fucks. Pep had meeting with Xavi as well during Unzue's documentary premiere, does that mean he is after Gavi now? I'll be more worried about that rumour I just made up, not Araujo who is reserve quality for a club like Man City.

City believe Pep will sign an extension past 2023. The feeling at the club is that he wants to build a dynasty there (Simon Mullock)

It's not just Xavi, Pep has a great relationship with Laporta - there will be a mutual understanding on poaching players, no question. This is not the Bartomeu era/board and Pep is more blaugrana than anyone
