Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Why not? I mean, he'll be 28 by next summer. If Dortmund really want to cash in in him, the coming summer should be ideal, no? Also, don't forget the impending ban, that could rule out a summer '17 move. If RM really want him, they will most likely go all in this coming window.

Because I don't think Dortmund is gonna sell yet. Gündogan is the most likely player to leave. If he goes then I don't think that Dortmund will want to sell another star, at least not one who's contract goes beyong 2017. Would make no sense, there is CL next year.

Benz is better. More complete.

more complete isn't the same as better.
you can have your core strengths at a level, where it easily makes up for your weaknesses.

I hear you. I still believe, though, that if Uncle Flo is thoroughly turned on by Aubameyang, he'll make an offer that Dortmund can't refuse this summer. If they're banned from the 17/18 window, Aubameyang will be 29 when they have the next opportunity to sign him.

well I'm not sure what an "offer they can't refuse" would be. Madrid won't go 100m on Auba, he isn't Ronaldo or Bale. 60-70m would possibly be the fee. That would be enough to sign a replacement.
The thing is: Just because Dortmund has the money for a replacement, it doesn't mean that this "replacement" is already wearing the black&yellow jersey. Who's there that is quality and would be a realistic signing?
Auba is 26 by the way. Dortmund can still sell him next year, when there's something on the market they think that could replace him properly.

We'll see. I can easily see it happening.
About his age, yeah, he's 26, but will be 27 by next season. As I said, RM will probably be transfer banned in the summer of 17/18 when he's 28, making him 29 by the next possible window. You already said he'll be a RM player sooner or later, but I'd wager that 29 is too late for RM.

Morata should stay at Juventus.. Real has BBC and if they also get Aubameyang there is no use of brining Morata back to Real Madrid.. Still better striker than Mandžukić though..

the point is buying Morata back for 30m, then including him in a swap + 70m for Aubameyang.

Mr Aubameyang, since your brace on Saturday, the fight for the Torjägerkanone (the German equivalent of Pichichi) is open again. Who will win it?

I don't know, it's still undecided. Robert Lewandowski is a great striker, who is posing challenges for me with every goal he scores.

You two played together in Dortmund. Are you still in contact?

Yes, we are, we text occasionally.

How's that, do you wind him up when you score a brace and he doesn't?

(laughs) No, not like that. We don't even talk about football.

Can you describe Lewandowski in a few words?

Yeah, doesn't need many: currently, he's the world's best striker.

So, if he's the best, who are you?

I'm the coolest (laughs), just joking.

Everything you do just seems so relaxed and chill. Before the season, you publicly promised 20 goals - doesn't that put you in a lot of pressure?

Maybe, but to me that number was just a reaction to my own ambitions. I set this goal for myself, so why keep this goal from the public, then? This is no extra pressure for me, I have the confidence. Of course, you have to reach that goal then or you look stupid.

Well, no more chance for that now.

That's right, but when I scored the 20th goal, I just wanted to keep scoring and scoring and scoring.

You almost score every game. Doesn't that just get old eventually?

No, how could it? Goals are always a beautiful thing. No matter if it's your first career goal or your 100th. That's what a striker works and lives for.

But you seem to be able to differentiate between regular goals and important goal. Sometimes you do a flip, sometimes you don't.

Yes, right. Some people keep telling me not to do that, out of fear for injury. But I'm careful, I already did that for many years.

When did you start?

(pauses) I guess I did my first flip with 5 years.

FIVE?

Yes. (laughs) But I still had to use my hands, to make it.

Under Tuchel, your performance vastly improved. How is your relationship?

We have a very close relation, we clicked almost instantly. I had a very good feeling from the start, we talk a lot, he knows how to handle me. It's a lot of fun with him. The way we play, the posession, this is good for me as a striker. We play offensively, so I get lots of goal opportunities. Otherwise, I couldn't score so much.

You two have a bet going on. What is it about?

I cannot tell! (laughs) He wrote something on a letter and gave it to me. If I score a few more goals, I'll show it to you after the season.

Tuchel praises your professionalism. Do you sometimes feel unjustly reduced to your flamboyant hair, fast cars and sparkly shoes?

Maybe, but that's just me. If I don't play football, people talk about my hair, clothes and cars. But that's part of my personality. On pitch, I'll give it 100%. Also in my spare time, I make sure to give my body what it needs. But noone sees that, so noone talks about it.

What do especially look out for?

For my sleep (laughs loudly)

Why do you laugh?

I just had an appointment with my physio for ten in the morning. I rescheduled that because it was too early. I need unbelievably much sleep. Actuially, I don't do much else besides football. I even slept before this interview, I almost came too late because of it.

They say that people in the Ruhrgebiet love beer and currywurst, dress reasonably and work hard. You are so much not that. Still, you are loved. Any explanation for that?

In the beginning I was a bit worried that people might take offense of that. But I think, people quickly realized that I don't take myself too seriously and still work hard. That's why they like my goofiness.

That you don't take yourself too seriously is openly visible on your social media accounts.

Yeah, I do some crazy things. Sometimes I get an upset text from our media director, because I leak information that I cannot play too early. (laughs)

In Hannover, you didn't impress with your goals but your jacket.

(laughs) Yeah, that was fun. I was already fully dressed at home, ready to go, black pants, black pullover, black jacket. Then, mah girl Alysha came and gave me this white jacket. What can I say? It was fabuluous!

Looking through your vitae, I can see a lot of different professional locations. But since 2013, you are and stay in Dortmund. Is this your football home, now?

I didn't extend my contract until 2020 for no reason. That was a very deliberate decision. I can imagine staying even longer, even though I do eventually want to play in Spain one day. Noone can say what happens in football. But generally speaking, I feel so well here in Dortmund, right now I cannot imagine a better place for me.

Your name is regularly mentioned with all European top clubs. Do you get nervous about the sums that are dropped in talks?

Football is about gigantic sums. But letting those numbers get to you is no use. It's counter-productive. Especially, since those numbers say nothing about me as a person, you have to realize that. Sure, earning good money is important, saying anything else is a lie. But money is not the most important issue, and money never is my motivation.

Hans-Joachim Watzke said that his minimum price for you is in triple-digits.

As far as I know, Mr Watzke never said, he'd sell me if someone offered 100 millions. He emphasized how eager the club is to continue to work with me. BVB is hungry for success. And so am I.

What player would YOU buy for that sum?

I do not know. The Messis and Ronaldos aren't even affordable for that money right now.

Maybe Marco Reus?

Marco is an insane player, a good friend. I just wish the very best for him! He had the highest bids from the world's top clubs, yet he deliberately decided to stay with BVB at his home club. I doubt that any sum of money would make him change his mind right now. He is just naturally at home here.
You and Reus are almost inseparable. How did that connection happen?

Maybe it's because we're both born in 1989, he on 31st of May, I on 18th of June. We have the same zodiac sign, Gemini, listen to the same music...

...and obviously share the same ideas, regarding the Batman-and-Robin celebration against Shitke.

Yes. (laughs)

So, after that you had Batman shirts in the last derby. Already got ideas for the next celebration?

We already have something, but it's not yet final. We'll think of something. Not just for the derby, but we'll definitely do something, I promise.

And when you win the Pokal at the end of the season?

Then I'll race around the Borsigplatz in the Batmobile!

I hear that Bayern is looking for a backup for Lewa, what better alternative than this guy? Bayern should go for it.
