Indeed, Puyol's return is cause for great optimism. His absence has weighed a lot more than just the makeshift nature of the defense. His presence on the pitch counts for a lot and I am thrilled that he's back and playing again.

Puyi's back!

Pique should be back for our next encounter vs. Osasuna.

Both Villa and Pedro scored.

Mascherano was purely awesome.

We have two quality midfielders in Thiago and Cesc, who can both replace Iniesta (¡Anims Andrés!).

Afellay should get some games too.

All in all.... Visca Barça! :)

Great stuff Philip :)

Feeling good about the depth both through the transfer season acquisitions and the rise of the young ones through La Masia (Thiago namely) to cover the unavoidable injuries. We were quite fortunate last season with injuries (or lack of to be precise) so I'm confident we can pick up three points in most of our games.

Thanks mate! Seriously though long term Barca fans have been blessed with watching their side be on top of the world for the better part of the last three years with a certainty of trophies to head our way over the next 5 years with a strong nucleus of players aged between 20-26 (and I'm sure there will be additions to cover holes left by our aging stars such as Puyol, Xavi and Abi). A recent dip in form (if you can even call drawing 2 games that!) is insignificant to the overall accomplishments of this group. Heck even if we were to say only (and I use that word loosely) win either the CL or La Liga, I'd still see it as a success since winning everything everyear is an unrealistic expectation I've seen some people put on this group.

Yes they are one of the most talented groups of all time, but they're given that label based on the past successes, not hype. And with that, additional trophies won only further cement their place as one of the great sides. I'm just happy to watch these guys weave their magic on the football pitch and have redefing the game that people such as Xavi can dominate the game rather then resorting to the super-athletic or negative minded tactics (yes I'm aware that this Barca squad did not invent beautiful football - but I think they've made some inroads in shifting the way football is played around the world at all levels to a more attractive game than that of say 5-10 years ago when English sides were dominating Europe).

Hope it all made sense! Just happy to support Barca at this stage so I reckon I'm an out and out PTC :party1:

Thiago recovered most balls vs Osasuna.

Messi and Fabregas combination is a dynamite.

Pique is recovering soon and maybe available for weekend game.

Busquets finally played his natural position.

many people think that thiago is a bit selfish players and sometimes overplay and try to hard to show off. but he is a real team player. i really liked how he covered dani's position in last game. even when they were up and the game was already done he still worked hard and covered dani's position and played in line with defenders.
